President Ho Chi Minh - the beloved leader of the nation has passed away, but his intellectual stature and ideology, moral style and simple image always live forever in the hearts of generations of Vietnamese people and international friends, leaving a strong mark in the history of the nation and humanity.
With the desire to portray the image of President Ho Chi Minh on stage with profound and emotional dramatic language, the Vietnam Drama Theater staged the special art program "Uncle Ho, an immense love" with two short plays: "Sister Tin's family story" and "The South in Uncle Ho's heart" by author Le Trinh-Ly Nguyen Anh, directed by Meritorious Artist Trinh Mai Nguyen.
The play “Story of Ms. Tin’s House” is a story about Uncle Ho’s visit to the poorest family in Hanoi on New Year’s Eve in the year of the Tiger 1962. No matter what position he held, he always thought of the people, always wished for every person and every family to celebrate Tet in a warm and happy spring. He once said, “I have only one desire, the ultimate desire, which is to make sure that everyone has food to eat, clothes to wear, and education.” The story of Uncle Ho visiting the poorest family in Hanoi on New Year’s Eve that year is one of those stories, expressing his immense love and the people’s affection for him.
During his lifetime, beloved Uncle Ho always had special feelings for the people of the South, as in the poem by poet To Huu: "Uncle misses the South as if he were homesick / The South misses Uncle as if he were longing for his Father". The short play "The South in Uncle's Heart" is based on poetic inspiration and the touching story when Uncle Ho met the heroine Tran Thi Ly and the soldiers and people of the South.
The play is like a song about the pain of division, the aspiration and determination for unification of the people of the whole country, recreating the years of the war against the US to save the country, along with the love and longing for the people of the South that always ached in Uncle Ho's heart as he once said: "A day when the Fatherland is not unified, the people of the South still suffer is a day when I cannot eat well, cannot sleep well".

At the same time, to serve the audience who love the stage on the occasion of the upcoming national holidays, the Vietnam Drama Theater cooperates with Metaforce Vietnam Company to stage the musical "Banh Mi Cafe".
The play reflects the seething atmosphere during the August Revolution of 1945 of the Vietnamese people. It authentically recreates the context of Vietnamese society during the painful, arduous but heroic years of war, praising the patriotic people, including the great contribution of the petty bourgeoisie who devoted not only money but also sacrificed their lives to join the resistance and the revolution.
Despite facing countless difficulties, the Vietnamese people still maintained their faith in victory and refused to submit to any oppression from the enemy. The indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people in the August Revolution was a beautiful manifestation of patriotism and solidarity, creating a great victory of the revolution, gaining independence and freedom, affirming the indomitable will of the Vietnamese people under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh and our Party in the struggle for national liberation.
