More than a month after losing in 5 sets in the 2025 Roland Garros final, Jannik Sinner had a spectacular revenge against Carlos Alcaraz in the 2025 Wimbledon final. After more than 3 hours of competition, the Italian player won 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to win Wimbledon for the first time.
Speaking after winning Wimbledon 2025, Sinner got emotional when recalling the defeat at Roland Garros: "This victory brings great emotions, because I experienced a very difficult defeat in Paris.

In big tournaments, it doesn't really matter how you win or lose. What matters is that you understand what you did wrong and try to fix it, which is what I did.
I tried to accept the defeat and continue to train hard, which made me the champion today. I am really grateful to be healthy, to be accompanied by great partners and to win this meaningful title."
This is Sinner's 4th Grand Slam, besides 2 Australian Opens and 1 US Open. He also ended a 5-match losing streak against the Spaniard. Carlos Alcaraz missed the chance to win his 6th Grand Slam, after he already had 2 Roland Garros, 2 Wimbledon and 1 US Open.
The Italian also had words of praise for Alcaraz after the final: “Alcaraz had a great tournament, but I always appreciate him. Every match against Carlos is difficult.
“Alcaraz and I have a great relationship off the court and on the court, we are creating something special together. If he continues to strive and keep trying, I believe he will lift this trophy many more times, because Alcaraz has won Wimbledon twice.”

For his part, Alcaraz could not hide his sadness after the defeat: “It is difficult to accept defeat, especially in the final, but I have to congratulate Sinner. He deserved to win this final.
I am so proud of what I have achieved. I struggled at the beginning of the season, but I have found the joy of playing tennis again. Thanks to my coaching team, family and friends, I have been able to succeed on this amazing journey and I will continue to work hard.”
