Riverside walking route in Hue city |
Many large projects are invested
It is not difficult to realize that the central area of Hue City is developing in the East - West and North - South direction, with the main landscape axis being the Huong River. This development direction extends from the mountainous area, down to the sea and lagoons through the belt traffic system.
Many Hue people admit that the banks of the Perfume River have never been more vibrant and more beautiful thanks to the constructions and projects of riverside walking paths invested in embankments, planting flowers, trees, and grass like today. The invested and extended walking paths not only create beauty for the urban landscape, but also are a highlight for tourism and service development, enhancing the value of landscape, ecology and culture of Hue.
Along with the riverside walking route system, Hue has a new modern bridge with a unique design across the Perfume River - Nguyen Hoang Bridge. This is the 8th bridge across the Perfume River, along with the bridges: Truong Tien, Phu Xuan, Da Vien, Bach Ho, Tuan, Cho Dinh and Thao Long, contributing to completing the city's modern transportation network.
Not only does it reduce traffic density in the inner city, Nguyen Hoang Bridge also becomes a “destination” for residents and tourists at night. At night, the bridge glows with many colors reflecting on the water surface, creating a shimmering, multi-colored scene.
Along with the bridges "in the heart of the city" are newly invested and built roads, contributing to the completion of traffic infrastructure and inter-regional connections, promoting the city's socio -economic development. These include routes such as Thuy Duong - Thuan An; coastal road... Notably, To Huu road extending to Phu Bai airport with a total investment of more than 1,100 billion VND has been and is under construction. After completion and put into use, this route will contribute to the completion of the traffic network in the area, meeting the needs of travel and transportation, helping to reduce the load on National Highway 1A and creating conditions to attract investors to the An Van Duong New Urban Area, as well as exploiting and creating land funds to bring budget revenue to Hue City.
Currently, at traffic construction sites, taking advantage of the beautiful sunny weather, investors and construction units are actively implementing to ensure project progress. Typically, the routes: Pham Van Dong, Ba Trieu, Nguyen Gia Thieu, Mai - Tan My market... are projects that meet the requirements of connecting the central urban area and satellite cities, contributing to improving the efficiency of regional development linkage when completed and put into use.
Shorten the distance
Down to Thuan An, the shape of the longest sea bridge in the Central region has gradually been completed with its massive, majestic appearance stretching out in the middle of the ocean.
On the recent bridge closing day, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong affirmed: This is an important event, marking the development of the urban face of the city and coastal localities. Thuan An seaport overpass will be technically opened to traffic and put into operation on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025.
Along with Thuan An seaport overpass, the coastal road in the city with a total length of 127km, connecting with National Highway 49B, has also been invested to "accompany" the Hoa Xuan, Truong Ha, Tu Hien, Tam Giang (Ca Cut) bridges... breaking through and crossing the sea, aiming to create a complete traffic system running along the coast from North to South, creating sustainable development links between regions and shortening the distance between coastal localities.
Another strategic bridge will also be invested in to cross Tam Giang Lagoon, connecting Phu Vang Commune to Phu Vinh Commune with a total investment of more than 1,000 billion VND. The bridge is expected to start construction in 2026 and be completed in 2028, contributing to shortening the distance between coastal communes and the city center. After completion, this will be the 6th bridge crossing Tam Giang - Cau Hai Lagoon; creating a driving force to attract investment, develop socio-economy as well as serve the needs of people in coastal and lagoon areas.
It can be seen that the bridges in Hue City today are not only simply traffic infrastructure, but also become symbols, affirming the rise of the land. They are also destinations bearing the mark of Hue in tourism and service development. The image of bridges, each wide, airy road, sparkling with electric lights at night creates a panoramic picture of the dynamic, modern Hue City, invested in and developed in harmony with a heritage city rich in identity.
After a long wait, the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway has recently been expanded from 2 lanes to 4 lanes. The project is expected to reduce the load on National Highway 1A, reduce traffic accidents, ensure safety for vehicles traveling on the route as well as increase connectivity between Hue and Da Nang, the Central region; gradually complete the traffic infrastructure in a synchronous and modern direction; promote the role of the North - South expressway in connecting localities and ensuring national defense and security in the region and the whole country. |
