Can Tho and An Giang People's Councils appoint members of the People's Committees

On July 1, at the first session of the 10th term People's Council of Can Tho City, 2021-2026, delegates passed a Resolution to establish 14 specialized agencies under the People's Committee of Can Tho City. Including the Department of Home Affairs; Department of Justice; Department of Finance; Department of Industry and Trade; Department of Agriculture and Environment; Department of Construction; Department of Science and Technology; Department of Education and Training; Department of Health; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions; Department of Foreign Affairs; Office of the City People's Committee and the City Inspectorate.

The departments were established on the basis of merging specialized units under the People's Committees of Can Tho City, Soc Trang Province and Hau Giang , aiming to streamline the focal points, increase operational efficiency and coordination of work.

At the same time, Chairman of the People's Council of Can Tho City Dong Van Thanh signed a Resolution appointing 12 Department Directors of the People's Committee of Can Tho City as members of the People's Committee of Can Tho City for the 2021-2026 term, including:

1. Mr. Huynh Viet Hoa, Director of City Police.

2. Mr. Huynh Van Hung, Commander of the City Military Command.

3. Mr. Nguyen Quoc Trung, Chief of Office of City People's Committee.

4. Mr. Mai Van Tan, Director of Department of Construction.

5. Mr. Ngo Thai Chan, Director of Department of Agriculture and Environment.

6. Mr. Ngo Anh Tin, Director of Department of Science and Technology.

7. Mr. Nguyen Van Bay, Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

8. Mr. Hoang Quoc Cuong, Director of Department of Health.

9. Mr. Nguyen Van Quan, Director of the Department of Justice.

10. Mr. Lam Hoang Mau, Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

11. Mr. Ha Vu Son, Director of Department of Industry and Trade.

12. Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Chief Inspector of the city.

On the afternoon of July 1, the 10th An Giang Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, held its first session to complete the government apparatus and pass many important resolutions after the merger.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai emphasized that the establishment of the new An Giang province is not only a matter of arranging administrative boundaries, but also a strategic step to reform the organizational apparatus and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

At the same time, the merger will connect the strengths of marine economy, high-tech agriculture, eco-tourism, border trade, etc. of Kien Giang and An Giang provinces, creating new development momentum for the southwestern region.

Comrade Nguyen Tien Hai requested to urgently improve the organization of government apparatus at all levels, ensure smooth operation, and avoid interruptions in operation and management.

According to the decision of the People's Council, the An Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term has 17 members, including:
