Vietnam is one of the first countries in the world to issue a program or strategy on National Digital Transformation. Implementing the "National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030" approved by the Prime Minister on June 3, 2020, the national digital transformation has achieved remarkable results, especially the awareness of digital transformation has been constantly improved.
To adapt to the new situation and take advantage of the opportunities brought by the fourth industrial revolution, on September 27, 2019, the Central Executive Committee issued Resolution No. 52-NQ/TW on a number of policies and strategies to proactively participate in the fourth industrial revolution, emphasizing the urgent need to accelerate the digital transformation process. On that basis, on June 3, 2020, the Prime Minister signed and issued Decision No. 749/QD-TTg approving the national digital transformation program until 2025, with a vision to 2030.
Accordingly, Vietnam will become a digital, stable and prosperous country, pioneering in testing new technologies and models; fundamentally and comprehensively innovating the management and operation activities of the Government , production and business activities of enterprises, the way people live and work, and developing a safe, humane and widespread digital environment.
The National Digital Transformation Program aims at the dual goal of developing digital government, digital economy, digital society, and forming Vietnamese digital technology enterprises with the capacity to go global, with a number of basic indicators.
In the "National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030" approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 749/QD-TTg dated June 3, 2020, it is affirmed that: "Awareness plays a decisive role in digital transformation". Accordingly: “Digital transformation is first of all a transformation of awareness. An agency or organization can carry out digital transformation immediately by using available resources and technical systems to digitize all of its information assets, restructure business processes, organizational structures and convert relationships from the traditional environment to the digital environment. Each agency, organization and the whole country needs to make the most of opportunities to develop digital government, digital economy, digital society, in which, early determination of the roadmap and acceleration of the digital transformation process in each industry, each field, each locality is of vital significance, an opportunity to develop industries, fields, localities and improve national rankings. Going fast and going ahead makes it easier to attract resources. If going slow and going behind, when digital transformation has become a popular trend, resources will become scarce, opportunities will be reduced, and development opportunities will be missed”.
Implementing the "National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030" approved by the Prime Minister, the national digital transformation has achieved very clear results, especially the awareness of digital transformation in state agencies, businesses and the entire population has been constantly improved.
