The Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1068/QD-TTg approving the Intellectual Property (IP) Strategy to 2030. This is the first time Vietnam has issued a national IP strategy, marking a new development step in the field of IP, affirming that IP is an important tool contributing to promoting innovation activities, as well as developing the country's economy , culture and society.
In order to implement the IP Strategy, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) has recently issued an Implementation Plan for the period 2020-2025. Accordingly, the Ministry has set out specific tasks and requirements, such as perfecting mechanisms, policies, and laws to promote the creation, establishment, exploitation, and protection of IP rights; developing a Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the IP Law; developing an Intellectual Property Development Program for the period up to 2030, etc.
On that basis, the units under the Ministry of Science and Technology specify the objectives and tasks in the work plan, integrate them with programs, plans and projects for implementation. Every year, the units evaluate the situation and results of the implementation of assigned tasks. In addition, the Ministry of Science and Technology has sent documents to the People's Committees of provinces and cities to guide the implementation of the IP Strategy.
