In the first 6 months of 2025, the number of tourists to Hue is estimated at 3.3 million, up 71% over the same period last year; of which international visitors are estimated at 1.1 million, up 42% over the same period. The number of overnight visitors is estimated at 1.2 million, up 10.6% over the same period, of which international visitors are estimated at more than 383,100, up nearly 9% over the same period. Tourism revenue is estimated at nearly VND 6,370.9 billion, up 59% over the same period last year.

Based on the tourism industry's 2025 target, in the first 6 months of the year, the estimated number of tourists reached 61%; the number of international visitors reached nearly 74%; and tourism revenue reached nearly 56% compared to the set target.

Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 34/CD-TTg dated April 10, 2025 of the Prime Minister, Hue City People's Committee issued Plan No. 181/KH-SDL dated April 23, 2025 to implement Official Dispatch No. 34/CD-TTg dated April 10, 2025 on promoting tourism development, ensuring double-digit economic growth. Accordingly, the locality has focused on implementing a number of tasks such as: Building and developing tourism products; Strengthening training of tourism human resources; Promoting propaganda, promotion, promotion, and tourism cooperation; Promoting digital transformation of the tourism industry, etc.

In addition, to implement the tourism stimulus program in 2025, Hue City People's Committee issued Decision 1749/QD-UBND dated June 19, 2025 approving the Project on tourism development and tourism services in Hue City for the period 2025 - 2030. This project focuses on mechanisms and policies on tourism products and destinations to stimulate tourism.

Specifically, focus on developing green, sustainable tourism products with quality, diversity, distinction, high added value and enhancing the experience for tourists based on the advantages of culture, heritage and existing resources. Focus on developing cultural tourism products, associated with preserving and promoting the heritage value of Hue Ancient Capital; prioritize the implementation and reorganization of service activities at the Imperial City and some other points of the Hue Monuments Complex in the direction of both day and night.

Focus on building and developing Hue tourism brand associated with tourism product brand. Strengthen coordination between levels and sectors in building and developing tourism brand to ensure consistency.

Strongly develop key tourism products with advantages of Hue tourism based on the foundation of established brands: Heritage City, Culinary Capital, Ao Dai Capital, Land of Hoang Mai, Green Asean City... to form unique, different tourism products with competitive advantages, contributing to building a prominent brand of Hue tourism.

Prioritize the development of marine and lagoon resort tourism products and marine sports and entertainment tourism in line with the orientation of the Vietnam Marine Economic Sustainable Development Strategy. Focus investment resources on developing a number of tourism clusters and high-end marine resort centers with strong brands in the international tourism market. Promote the development of community tourism, agricultural and rural tourism, eco-tourism, adventure sports tourism... Continue to develop urban tourism products, conference, seminar and event tourism (MICE); tourism combining shopping, medical treatment, health care, education, entertainment, especially night entertainment...

Along with that, to stimulate tourism development, Hue Tourism Department has focused on implementing and organizing many events, festivals... to attract domestic and foreign tourists. Tourism and service businesses in Hue City have implemented many product packages to stimulate and attract tourists...

According to the general assessment, in the first 6 months of 2025, Hue Tourism has achieved important results in the assigned fields. Key programs and projects have been implemented to contribute to the completion of tasks and create a premise for the following year. Tourism product development has changed appropriately in the direction of proactively surveying to develop key product lines associated with the province's own brand and focusing on development in localities in the area.

Hue City organizes tourism communication and promotion activities continuously and enthusiastically. Domestic and international activities have links between localities, between units and businesses in many diverse and rich forms, bringing about clear efficiency and cost savings, especially foreign promotion activities.

In addition, Hue tourism industry also received active and effective support from domestic partners (Vietravel, Saigontourist, Vietnam Railway Corporation, etc.) and international partners (CNN, Nol Universe, Korea Tourism Association, SMC Company - Korea, KX Group); domestic media agencies, airlines (Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet, Vietravel Airlines) ... have contributed to promoting the image and people of Hue, enhancing the tourism image of Hue domestically and internationally, thereby attracting the growth of tourists to Hue City./.
