Becoming the valedictorian of an exam block is already difficult, but this male student from Hanoi was able to do it in two traditional exam blocks, A1 and D1, this year.
Specifically, in block A1, Viet Hung achieved a total score of 29.75 with Math 10; Physics 10; English 9.75 and became the national valedictorian.
In block D1, this male student was also valedictorian with a total score of 29, including Math 10; Literature 9.25 and English 9.75.
Sharing with VietNamNet , Nguyen Viet Hung said he was not too surprised about his score. The male student said he felt a bit regretful when he got one question wrong in English and only got 9.75.
Ms. Tran Thi Yen, an English teacher of class 12 Anh and Viet Hung for 3 years of high school, said she was not surprised because this was a result worthy of the students' abilities.
“Viet Hung is very passionate about studying, eager to learn and studies well in all subjects, not just the English subject that I teach. I always find joy in studying with him. He has a very solid grasp of the issues. Viet Hung also always shares and exchanges knowledge with his classmates, not just focusing on studying,” said Ms. Yen.

According to Ms. Yen, the male student is also very proactive in studying and always shows a spirit of striving and improving.
“When he first entered 10th grade, Viet Hung was not one of the top students in his class in English. But after that, he tried very hard to be a member of the school team in the city-level excellent student competition and won second prize,” said Ms. Yen.
What impressed Ms. Yen about Viet Hung was that every day, the male student cycled more than 11 kilometers to school and the same distance to return home.
In class, Viet Hung also achieved excellent scores in all subjects. He also studied on his own and achieved 1,560 SAT points and 8.0 IELTS.
"With these scores, Viet Hung only studied at school and did not take extra classes," said Ms. Yen.
In addition to studying, the male student is also very sociable with his classmates and actively participates in sports to improve his health. "Viet Hung is very hard-working and responsible, so he is loved and trusted by his friends and teachers," Ms. Yen commented.
With this result, Viet Hung said he is considering applying to the Computer Science major at Hanoi University of Science and Technology with the A1 group.
