However, most of the goals set out in the program have not been achieved. Specifically, at the provincial level, there are 61 traditional medicine hospitals (3% lower than the set target); 82% of general hospitals have traditional medicine departments and teams (8% lower than the target); the rate of communes implementing traditional medicine examination and treatment is 83.6% (12% lower than the target); The rate of medical examinations using traditional medicine combined with modern medicine accounts for 3.3% (lower than the target of 12%)...

Concluding the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long highly appreciated the results achieved by the health sector after 5 years of implementing Decision No. 1893 on the development of traditional medicine. Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long directed that for the unachieved goals, the health sector and related ministries and sectors must have solutions to achieve them in the coming time. In particular, ministries and sectors must strongly innovate in thinking, have feasible solutions to improve the quality of traditional medicine; review documents related to traditional medicine to propose new appropriate constructions; train, build and plan human resources for traditional medicine; scientific research must bear the mark of traditional medicine in Vietnam.
