Meeting with press, publishing, literary and artistic agencies in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region

The meeting is part of the Central Propaganda Department's work program to strengthen leadership, direction, and management of press, publishing, cultural and artistic activities, effectively implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and deliver the concluding remarks of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the National Cultural Conference in November 2021. Before this meeting, the leaders of the Central Propaganda Department coordinated with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and related units to successfully organize meetings with press, publishing, literary and artistic agencies in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast; in the Mekong Delta and the Central - Central Highlands regions.

This meeting is also a practical activity towards the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 / May 7, 2024); the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 / June 21, 2025) and the summary of 50 years of Vietnamese literature and art after the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 / April 30, 2025)...

Comrade Phung Khanh Tai, Standing Deputy Secretary of Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee spoke.

At the meeting, delegates listened to the speech of Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc, Director of the Propaganda Department; Comrade Phung Khanh Tai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee, informed about some outstanding results in the situation of information and propaganda work in the press, publishing, culture and arts to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress in Phu Tho province. Leaders of Dien Bien province reported on the preparation of exciting and practical activities towards the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory; as well as the enthusiastic and responsible opinions of leaders of some press, publishing, literature and arts agencies attending the meeting.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that in recent times, press, publishing, and literary and artistic agencies in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region have informed, propagated, and widely disseminated important political events of the country and the locality. Artists, journalists, and publishers in the region have created many quality works, closely following the breath of life associated with local culture; truly becoming an important bridge between the Party's will and the people's hearts, contributing to raising awareness and strengthening people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the State; arousing and encouraging patriotism, great national unity, the will to be self-reliant, and the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department delivered a concluding speech at the meeting.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department suggested that local Party committees and authorities need to have a deeper awareness and take more drastic and specific actions to invest in journalism, publishing, culture, literature and art; pay attention to planning and developing journalism, publishing, culture, literature and art in the region in conjunction with preserving and promoting indigenous culture; have mechanisms and environments to promote and develop local literary and artistic talents, while focusing on taking care of the lives of artists, journalists and publishers.

Within the framework of the meeting, in the morning of the same day, delegates attended the incense offering ceremony to the Hung Kings at the Hung Temple National Historical Site.
