Nearly 10,700 petrol stations issue electronic invoices

According to the General Department of Taxation, as of March 15, 2024, the total number of gas stations issuing electronic invoices for each sale nationwide is 10,649 stores, so there are still nearly 5,000 stores that have not implemented this regulation.

As of March 15, 2024, there are 10,649 gas stations nationwide issuing electronic invoices for each sale.

According to the latest statistics from the General Department of Taxation, as of March 15, the total number of gas stations issuing electronic invoices for each sale nationwide was 10,649, an increase of 7,949 compared to December 1, 2023 and accounting for 67.6% of gas stations nationwide.

Thus, there are still more than 5,000 gas stations that have not yet issued electronic invoices for each sale.

At the regular Government meeting in February 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh firmly requested that this March, if gas stations do not use electronic invoices, their licenses will be revoked.

During the question-and-answer session at the National Assembly Standing Committee meeting on March 18, 2024, Minister Ho Duc Phoc said that the Ministry of Finance is promoting the implementation of electronic invoices, connecting electronic data at gas stations with tax authorities, thereby contributing to controlling the quality of goods and limiting smuggling.

Recently, the Government and the Prime Minister have issued many instructions to ministries, branches and local authorities to coordinate and implement the issuance of electronic invoices for each sale at retail stores of gasoline. However, according to the General Department of Taxation, there are still some gasoline traders who have not complied with the law on issuing electronic invoices for gasoline trading and retail activities.

The General Department of Taxation requires local tax departments, especially those with a low rate of retail gasoline stores issuing electronic invoices for each sale, to resolutely direct strict implementation of regulations on electronic invoices and connect data with tax authorities.

Most recently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued urgent dispatch No. 1654/BTC-TTTN on implementing regulations on electronic invoices and providing electronic invoice data as prescribed.

In this dispatch, the Ministry requested the People's Committees of provinces and cities to direct support for petroleum traders to issue electronic invoices to customers for each sale and provide electronic invoice data according to regulations.

Enterprises must issue electronic invoices at gasoline retail stores for customers for each sale at gasoline retail stores and provide electronic invoice data according to regulations. Departments of Industry and Trade closely monitor the supply and demand balance of gasoline products to prevent gasoline stores from stopping sales, causing local shortages in supply in the area.
