According to the Government's viewpoint, with the goal of developing SMEs quickly and sustainably, increasing in quantity, quality, scale, operational efficiency and making important contributions to the economy . Strive to have at least 1 million more enterprises by 2030.

In particular, priority is given to allocating resources to support the development of SMEs, focusing on supporting creative startups; improving competitiveness in participating in the value chain; digital transformation, green transformation, developing new business models; promoting technology application, innovation and digital transformation.

In addition, it is necessary to promote the sense of responsibility, take people and businesses as the center, consider the difficulties of people and businesses as one's own difficulties to proactively support, accompany, and resolve them in the spirit of "not saying no, not saying difficult, not saying yes but not doing", "not criminalizing economic relations, civil relations", high determination, great effort, drastic action; assign specific tasks in the spirit of "clear people, clear work, clear responsibility, clear authority, clear time, clear results"...

The Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Finance to implement solutions to promote the development of SMEs. In particular, the key tasks and solutions that need to be implemented are to perfect policies and laws, reform administrative procedures, and create a favorable and equal investment and business environment for SMEs.

Continue to focus on drastically and effectively implementing tasks and solutions to remove barriers and difficulties, creating conditions to maximize the mobilization of resources of SMEs to contribute to economic growth and development.

In addition, it is necessary to support SMEs to improve the quality of human resources, digital transformation, increase labor productivity, build Vietnamese enterprise brands to expand the market and participate more deeply in the value chain.

Promote the implementation of programs and solutions to support SMEs in innovation, digital transformation, green transformation, and the development of new economic models. In particular, support the upgrading of SMEs to meet standards of association with large enterprises, leading enterprises, foreign-invested enterprises, etc.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tuong Nam - Chairman of the Vinh Long Province Business Association (formerly), SMEs currently have the desire to develop. Currently, the association also has many local business associations and large-scale business clubs to aim at developing businesses with strong brands.

In recent times, provincial authorities at all levels have paid attention to and accompanied provincial enterprises. Thereby, creating more motivation to promote enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises, to develop more sustainably.

Take advantage of new opportunities

Currently, Vinh Long province has 15,500 enterprises, some of which are FDI enterprises and large enterprises, the rest are mostly small and micro enterprises. With its geographical location as the center of the Mekong Delta, the merger into the new Vinh Long province will create a huge development space for the business community of the province.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tan Thu - Director of Putin Animal Feed Company Limited, the merger of provinces will open up many new opportunities for the business community, especially SMEs. "When the economic space is expanded, infrastructure-logistics connections are synchronized, the scale of the domestic market by area is also larger, this is a very favorable condition for businesses to boost product consumption, increase competitiveness and save costs to reach customers" - Mr. Thu said.

Mr. Thu commented that the current time is a “golden opportunity” for small businesses to take advantage of new momentum from policies, regional linkages, and digital transformation to rise up. However, to seize the opportunity, it is recommended that businesses proactively innovate their management thinking, invest in product quality, and improve their ability to access domestic supply chains. In particular, consider cooperation between businesses as a long-term development strategy.

Meanwhile, the Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to organize activities to connect distribution enterprises and goods manufacturing enterprises; implement trade promotion activities, connect supply and demand to support the consumption of locally produced consumer goods, safe food products, and regional specialties.

At the same time, plan and actively implement trade promotion programs; encourage and guide enterprises to promote the application of information technology and digital transformation in commercial activities; support people and small and medium enterprises to apply digital technology to connect supply and demand and expand the market.

Promote the implementation of activities to carry out the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", support the consumption of domestically produced goods, especially for export goods when the international market is facing difficulties;...

The current trend is that the “game” is changing very quickly, competition is increasingly fierce, and any enterprise that adapts flexibly, takes the domestic market as its mainstay and develops sustainably will be the leader in this new phase.

Businesses need to proactively participate and expand the market.
Businesses need to proactively participate and expand the market.

For SMEs, first of all, it is necessary to take advantage of expanding the geographical market, establishing new branches or retail outlets in newly merged areas to increase brand coverage. Strengthening surveys of the expanded domestic consumer market, thereby adjusting products to suit the diverse needs of new customers.

“In particular, it is necessary to strengthen business-to-business linkages. It is necessary to proactively cooperate with businesses in the same industry or supporting businesses in the province to expand to share resources, distribute jointly, or develop domestic supply chains. Participate in regional fairs, connect trade to expand the network of partners. Build an online sales system or participate in e-commerce platforms to easily reach customers in many new locations,” Mr. Thu emphasized.
