Striker Le Van Thuan will not be part of the upcoming journey of U22 Vietnam at the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship. The best young players of V.League 2024/25 will have a chance in the next training sessions.
In the last June training session, Van Thuan was called up to the U22 Vietnam team for the first time. He left his mark with a goal against U22 Taiwan in a friendly match on July 2. The fact that Van Thuan could not continue to accompany the U22 Vietnam team surprised many people.
In the 2024/25 V.League season, Van Thuan played impressively, scoring 4 goals and having 2 assists after 16 appearances for Thanh Hoa . This is an encouraging achievement for a young striker. This absence will be a motivation for him to continue to strive, ready for the next opportunities in the national team.
According to the plan, U22 Vietnam will train in Ba Ria Vung Tau until July 14 before leaving for Indonesia to participate in the Southeast Asian U23 Championship, taking place from July 15 to 29. In the group stage, the team will meet Laos (July 19) and Cambodia (July 22).
In this arena, U23 Vietnam is the defending champion after two consecutive crowns in 2022 and 2023.
