Import and export reached nearly 450 billion USD, trade surplus 14.53 billion USD

From the beginning of the year to the end of July, Vietnam's total import-export turnover reached 440.45 billion USD, with a trade surplus of 14.53 billion USD.

According to the latest data released by the General Department of Customs: In July, the turnover import export The whole country reached 70.11 billion USD, up 9.4% (equivalent to an increase of 6 billion USD) compared to the previous month.

In there, export reached 36.23 billion USD, up 7.7% (equivalent to an increase of 2.58 billion USD) and imports in July 2024 reached 33.88 billion USD, up 11.2% (equivalent to an increase of 3.42 billion USD).

In general, from the beginning of the year to the end of July, Vietnam's total import-export turnover reached 440.45 billion USD, an increase of 17.2% (equivalent to an increase of 64.66 billion USD) over the same period last year.

Of which, exports reached 227.49 billion USD, up 16% (equivalent to an increase of 31.34 billion USD) and imports reached 212.96 billion USD, up 18.5% (equivalent to an increase of 33.32 billion USD).

The trade balance in July had a trade surplus of 2.35 billion USD and in the first 7 months, the trade surplus was 14.53 billion USD.

July was the first month that our country's import and export turnover reached the milestone of 70 billion USD/month.

In 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade forecasts that export growth may exceed the set target of 6%... To support export activities in general, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has directed the Vietnam Trade Office system in market areas to regularly update information on foreign market situations, regulations, standards, and conditions of foreign markets that may affect Vietnam's import and export activities and make recommendations to localities, associations, and import-export enterprises, thereby promoting the export of goods.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade is also accelerating the progress and making efforts to soon conclude negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Vietnam and the UAE. In addition, it is implementing a variety of forms, both direct and online, to introduce the advantages and incentives from the implemented FTAs.

In addition, units of the Ministry of Industry and Trade continue to promptly inform industry associations and businesses about developments in the export market so that businesses can promptly adjust their production plans accordingly and orient their search for orders from the markets.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Industry and Trade continues to innovate trade promotion; promote at the highest level the digital transformation program in trade promotion and connect Vietnamese enterprises and their products to the Vietnamese Trade Office system in countries and territories. Thereby, promoting products and seeking opportunities to expand the market.
