At the conference on June 9, Ms. Thai Thi Thanh Hai, Vice President of Vingroup and Deputy General Director of VinFast, announced impressive figures: the new sales target was adjusted to 280,000 vehicles in 2025, significantly higher than the original plan, and the company even expected to exceed this number.
Based on strong domestic growth momentum, after only the first 4 months of 2025, VinFast has delivered more than 44,600 electric vehicles, accounting for 37% of the electric vehicle market share in Vietnam (double the 18% share last year). At this rate, VinFast is very close to capturing more than 50% of the total domestic automobile market share.

However, VinFast’s ambitions do not stop at Vietnam. The company is stepping up its strategy to conquer the Asian market, focusing on countries with large scale and strong electric vehicle support policies such as Indonesia and India. Two factories are being built here, with an initial capacity of 50,000 vehicles per year each.
The factory in India is expected to be operational in the third quarter of 2025, while the factory in Indonesia will be completed in early 2026. By early 2026, VinFast's total global capacity will reach about 800,000 vehicles/year, including two factories in Vietnam (Hai Phong 300,000, Ha Tinh 200,000).
An important part of this breakthrough strategy is to increase the localization rate from the current level of about 60% to 80% by 2026. This is a key factor to help VinFast control costs, optimize production and improve competitiveness when expanding to the big sea.
In particular, VinFast is calling on and accompanying the domestic business community to participate more deeply in the supply chain. The company not only supports production sites and commits to cooperation in consumption, but also plays a role in connecting Vietnamese businesses with international partners to access advanced technology and production experience.
The goal is to help domestic enterprises improve their competitiveness and gradually participate in the global supply chain.
Ms. Thai Thi Thanh Hai emphasized the desire to work with domestic partners to create a solid foundation for the Vietnamese automobile industry in the international arena.
The conference on strengthening localization and developing the supplier system is the largest event ever for the domestic supply chain, creating a golden opportunity for Vietnamese companies to contribute to the development of the supporting industry and towards the goal of turning Vietnam into an important automobile manufacturing center in Southeast Asia.
In the long term, VinFast aims to sell 400,000 vehicles in 2026, 530,000 vehicles in 2027 and reach 1 million vehicles in 2030, affirming that this plan is completely feasible and is building an even higher internal target. This is a testament to VinFast's aspiration and determination in the global electric vehicle race.
