After two wins against Maldives and UAE, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team only needed a draw with Guam to advance, but they did more than that.
The Vietnamese women's team entered the game proactively and scored the opening goal in the 2nd minute.
From a quick attack, Nguyen Thi Van took advantage of the opportunity to score accurately, helping the Vietnamese women's team take the lead.
The pressure continued to be maintained on the opponent's field and in the 13th minute, taking advantage of a mistake by Guam's defense, Bich Thuy successfully stole the ball and scored, raising the score to 2-0.
In the 24th minute, Bich Thuy completed her double in the match with a beautiful shot in the penalty area, after Huynh Nhu's effort to dribble and pass, helping the Vietnamese women's team lead 3-0 before the end of the first half.
In the second half, the game did not change much as coach Mai Duc Chung's players still completely dominated the game. Huynh Nhu almost scored in the 60th minute but her shot was denied by the post.
Meanwhile, Guam's dense defense made it difficult for the home team to finish.
However, the constant pressure finally materialized in the 73rd minute when Hai Yen scored to raise the score to 4-0. In the 79th minute, Bich Thuy had a chance to complete her hat-trick but her shot hit the crossbar.
With a 4-0 win, the Vietnamese women's team finished the qualifying round with a perfect record of winning all 3 matches, scoring 17 goals and conceding none, excellently winning first place in Group E and a ticket to the final round of the 2026 Asian Cup.
