Nguyen Thanh Thuy was born and raised in Ho Chi Minh City in a family with no artistic tradition - both his father and mother worked in the medical field. His path to music began not with songs, but with the sound of the piano as a child. Those first keys accidentally opened a door, bringing the boy closer to music and his own voice.
"At first, I just played the guitar and sang along. Everyone was surprised: Oh, this boy can sing! And so I was encouraged to sing more," Thanh Thuy recalled.
From that moment on, music gradually became indispensable, not just a hobby, but a passion, a place where he found himself.

The turning point came in 2018, when Thanh Thuy passed the entrance exam to the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, becoming one of the first students to receive intensive training in Vocal Music and Light Music. The years of studying at the conservatory not only helped him perfect his technique but also took him on a journey deep into his inner self to find his own voice in music: "Who am I on stage? What story do I want to tell with my music?".
Thanh Thuy also cherishes a bigger dream of bringing modern music genres such as Jazz and Jazz Fusion closer to Vietnamese audiences. To him, jazz is a fascinating world - where improvisation meets technique, where freedom blends with artistic depth.
Not stopping at the role of a performing artist, Nguyen Thanh Thuy chose to continue accompanying music in the role of teaching. He is currently a lecturer in the Vocal Music department of the Jazz, Pop, Rock & Music Technology department of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, the school that nurtured his own artistic dream.
As a teacher, Thanh Thuy brings both solid expertise and a desire to inspire. "I believe that music is not just about performance but also a tool for healing, connecting and unlocking potential. Young people coming to music need both skills and faith and I want to accompany them on that path," he shared.
Participating in the Talent Rendezvous program at an age that is no longer young compared to the average contestant, the 9X generation guy still confidently stepped onto the stage with the mindset of a storyteller through music. His life and career experiences help him express his emotions completely, deeply and subtly.
Through each round, Thuy impressed with her professional performance style, stage control ability and meticulous attention to detail for each performance.
"The show helped me rediscover myself, not just as a singer but as a versatile performer, capable of experimenting with many different genres," he shared.
Without any frills or complicated philosophy, Nguyen Thanh Thuy chose for himself a simple but powerful motto: "If you want to sing better, sing more." He believes that persistent practice and a serious attitude towards music are the decisive factors to go the long way with art.
"Repetition is never boring if each time you sing it comes from true emotions. Music is not for showing off but to connect with the audience, with yourself and with the beautiful things in life," he said.
Nguyen Thanh Thuy's artistic journey has never stopped at titles. For him, each stage in his career is a new chapter, where perseverance, passion and creativity are the guiding principles.
In the near future, he is nurturing projects to bring Jazz music and contemporary styles to a wider audience, while continuing his role as teacher, nurturer, companion and igniter for the young generation of artists.
