Vietnam women's volleyball team overwhelms Australia on opening day of VTV Cup 2025

On the evening of June 28, facing a much weaker opponent, the Australian team, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team had no difficulty defeating their opponent 3-0 on the opening day of the VTV Cup 2025.

After the first two matches of Group B, the opening day of the VTV Cup 2025 volleyball tournament ended with the clash between Vietnam and Australia in Group A. The kangaroo team is a familiar opponent of Vietnam in the continental playground, but Australia has never been able to cause difficulties for the Vietnamese girls.

The last time in the group stage of the AVC Nations Cup 2025 took place in early June in Hanoi , Thanh Thuy and her teammates easily won 3-0 against this opponent. However, the girls in purple entered the opening match of the VTV Cup 2025 without any complacency.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet fielded the strongest starting lineup with Thanh Thuy, Bich Tuyen, Nguyen Thi Uyen, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Bich Thuy and libero Khanh Dang.

Continuing to maintain the same harmonious playing style as shown at the AVC Nations Cup, the Vietnamese team completely dominated the game, easily winning the first set 25-18.

When the game was easy, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet started rotating the team, sending all the players on the bench onto the field one by one. The name that left the most impression was Kieu Trinh when the 24-year-old setter continuously scored points from familiar fast-paced situations.

Other names coming off the bench such as Nguyen Thi Phuong, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Le Thanh Thuy, Pham Thi Hien, setter Kim Thoa and libero Nguyen Thi Ninh Anh all left their mark, helping the Vietnamese team have an even easier second set with a 25-17 victory.

The developments in set 3 did not have any breakthroughs as the Vietnamese team proved to be too strong against Australia and won 25-14. With a 3-0 victory (25-18, 25-17, 25-14), the Vietnamese women's volleyball team had a favorable start at VTV Cup 2025 with the top position in Group A.

At 7:00 p.m. tomorrow, June 29, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will enter the next match against the Philippines, recreating the AVC Nations Cup 2025 final that took place 2 weeks ago.
