This concept has actually been implemented in Da Nang and Quang Nam since 2018. According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, by May 2025, the old Da Nang had 148 OCOP products. Meanwhile, in the old Quang Nam, up to now, there have been more than 300 OCOP products in the area. Many Quang Nam OCOP products are present at demonstration sites, summary activities, and even introduced at exhibitions in many localities.
OCOP Quang Nam has been introduced in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Ba Ria Vung Tau, Hanoi . Although the specific business results are not yet clear, these are meaningful activities, with significant impacts on the socio-economic activities in rural areas in recent times. Now, Quang Nam and Da Nang have merged into one administrative unit, so it is not redundant to mention this story here!
I once visited a tea production facility in Dai Thanh commune. The business owner, who was quite young, had encouraged people to re-establish tea gardens that had existed since 1930, borrowed capital to buy equipment, invited people to work, and borrowed warehouses and abandoned houses to use as processing and packaging facilities.

The product has become increasingly prestigious and has become a typical product of the entire Dai Loc B region. The entire Dai Loc region has now become a locality with bustling OCOP activities, changing the socio-economic appearance of the land which is limited in both area and fertility.
In the Go Noi area, if Au Lac wood carving has reached foreign countries, tourism activities are also creating a prominent reputation. On this side of Ky Lam bridge of the old Dien Tho, there is also an agricultural seed facility called Dien Ban, famous for its organic rice varieties, opening many agents in Da Nang and a few supermarkets...
I haven't been everywhere so it's hard to imagine everything, but with the industriousness of the Quang people, the fish sauces alone, such as Huong Lang Co in Nam O, Huynh Van Muoi fish sauce in Man Thai, Cua Khe fish sauce in the south of Hoi An... have gradually revived the name of Quang fish sauce, famous for hundreds of years ago.

In the new city of Da Nang, with the reality that many rural and mountainous areas are still facing difficulties, and agricultural communes have a different level of development compared to urban and tourist areas, the development of OCOP products needs to be focused on.
In my opinion, determining product quality, origin, and hygiene and safety are top priorities; connecting production with product consumption through a system of supermarkets and retail stores available in urban areas, with preferential tax policies...
I have visited many rural areas in Thailand and found that, with the help of the Thai royal family, each village is supported with vocational training, seeds, and even free space along the roads so that the villages can open shops to sell their products without having to pay rent.
The new rural and agricultural areas of Da Nang are also characterized by narrow land, uneven population distribution, and difficult transportation. When implementing the OCOP program, it is necessary to conduct specific surveys of each locality to encourage and compensate for disadvantaged areas with favorable areas.
In mountainous and disadvantaged areas, food is often just enough to eat, the value brought by OCOP products is the only thing that can provide adequate encouragement and surplus income for each locality.
And finally, the leading agricultural and agricultural extension officers in each commune and ward who are passionate will play an important role in promoting the OCOP program in each locality.
