Recently, Mr. Pham Xuan Phu, Principal of Nam Dan 2 High School ( Nghe An ) signed a notice on admission scores and admission time for the second round of 10th grade for the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, the benchmark score for the second round of admission to grade 10 at this school is 2.5 points (including priority and incentive points, if any). The successful candidates are students with a total admission score of 2.5 or higher, who have submitted their first application to Nam Dan 2 High School but have not been admitted in the first round.

These students will enroll on July 4. After that time, if students do not come to complete the enrollment procedures, the school will not keep the quota.

Speaking with VietNamNet reporters, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province confirmed the above information and said that because Nam Dan 2 High School lacked its quota, the admission score was lowered, including 1 student with 2.5 points who was admitted to the school.

"The first round's benchmark score was 9.5 points for the three subjects Math, Literature, and English. In the second round, only 1 student scored 2.5 points and was admitted to the school. This year, the number of applicants for Nam Dan 2 High School is low. This is a disadvantaged area, so few students registered to study at the school. In favorable areas, students have registered to study at Nam Dan 1 High School. I do not agree with the principal's approach, it is impossible to miss a few quotas and admit students with 2.5 points into the school," said the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province.

According to the leader of Nam Dan 2 High School, the admission score for the school this year is quite low. "This year, the number of students admitted to the school is close to the number of candidates registered for the exam. In the first round, only more than 410 candidates registered for the exam, while the school needs to enroll about 400 students," said the leader of the school.

This year, the 10th grade entrance exam in Nghe An was held over 2 days (June 3 and 4) with 3 subjects: Math, Literature and Foreign Language (English or French).

According to the instructions, candidates taking the exam this year must be students residing and studying in Nghe An province. In case students transfer from other localities, they must have the approval of the Department of Education and Training.
