Ensuring missions and improving soldiers' lives
“What must you do, a bowl of rice, a coin, a pill, an inch of cloth must go straight to the soldiers, that is your duty…” - the simple but profound teaching of President Ho Chi Minh to the Army Logistics sector has always been the guiding principle in all activities of the officers and soldiers of the Logistics sector of the 377th Air Defense Division. Imbued with that ideology, in the past 5 years, the emulation movement “The Army Logistics Sector follows Uncle Ho's teachings” at the 377th Air Defense Division has been widely deployed, associated with the Emulation movement to Win and effectively implement Directive No. 05. The movement has truly spread deeply and effectively, contributing significantly to improving the quality of logistics support work, building a comprehensively strong unit “a typical model”.

According to Colonel Nguyen Van Nam - Deputy Commander of the 377th Air Defense Division, the highlight of the emulation movement is to always adhere to the task of combat readiness and airspace management; at the same time, organize logistics support in a comprehensive, correct and practical manner. The emulation targets were all achieved and exceeded, and the soldiers' lives were significantly improved. The contents of building a regular logistics sector, training, competitions and sports events have changed positively and substantially. Thanks to closely following the motto of "focusing on the grassroots", the Logistics sector has become a solid foundation, contributing significantly to building a strong and comprehensive unit.
In the context of fluctuating market prices, harsh climate, and scattered military units, the division's logistics sector has promoted the spirit of self-reliance, innovated logistics methods, promoted increased production, and promoted internal resources. The system of barns, vegetable gardens, and fish ponds has been invested in the right direction and exploited effectively. As a result, the entire division has self-sufficiently supplied more than 90% of green vegetables, 70% of meat, and 40% of fish. The total output harvested over the past 5 years has reached more than 1,085 tons of vegetables and fruits, 530 tons of meat, and nearly 66 tons of fish; earning more than 12.2 billion VND from increased production. This is a stable, cheap, and quality food supply for the unit, contributing to improving meals and improving the health and lives of soldiers.
At the same time, the division's medical sector always attaches importance to the task of taking care of soldiers' health; preventing and fighting epidemics and building a scientific and hygienic lifestyle. Treatment, periodic health check-ups, recruitment examinations, and re-examinations of new soldiers are all organized strictly and according to procedures, with the rate of healthy soldiers regularly reaching 98.97% or more.
Clear effectiveness in all aspects
Another bright spot in the emulation movement of the Logistics sector of the 377th Air Defense Division is the work of barracks and the construction of environmental landscapes. With the attention and investment of superiors, along with the proactive and creative spirit from the grassroots, the system of housing, offices, warehouses, production areas, training grounds, and training grounds of the unit is increasingly spacious, standardized, and clean. In the past 5 years, the entire division has whitewashed and painted works with a total area of over 113,500m²; maintained, repaired, and prevented leaks and termites, extending the life of the works, creating favorable and safe conditions for soldiers to live, study, and work.

In addition, the management of gasoline, oil and transportation has many positive changes. The subordinate units have strictly maintained the order of exploiting, receiving, managing and distributing gasoline and oil to fully and promptly serve the tasks of combat readiness, airspace management, training and other unexpected tasks. Gasoline and oil depots have been invested in and built in the direction of "regularity, safety and economy". Transportation work ensures absolute safety, associated with the emulation movement "Building a regular - safe - effective transportation unit" and the Campaign "Managing and exploiting weapons and technical equipment well, durable, safe, economical and traffic safety". These movements have created strong and comprehensive changes, contributing to improving the quality of technical assurance and transportation.
Lieutenant Colonel Do Kim Doan - Deputy Head of Logistics - Engineering of the 377th Air Defense Division said: “Over the past 5 years, the division's Logistics sector has grown steadily in all aspects. Logistics officers and staff have maintained their moral qualities, improved their sense of responsibility and service attitude. Training and building a regular discipline have made remarkable progress, especially in organizing well competitions and sports events for the Logistics sector at all levels, from the Logistics Manager competition, the treatment room competition, the herbal medicine garden competition to the green, clean, beautiful barracks competition... Many groups and individuals have achieved high results in competitions and sports events at the Military Service and the Ministry of National Defense levels”.
Promoting the achievements, the officers and staff of the Logistics Department of the 377th Air Defense Division continue to unite, overcome all difficulties and challenges, compete in creative labor, strive to excellently complete the tasks, contents and targets of the emulation movement in the coming period, contributing to building a strong unit, "exemplary model", and embellishing the tradition of the heroic 377th Air Defense Division.
