The first days when Ms. Nghiem Thu Trang, an official of the Provincial Information Center, came to work, it was also the time when the central wards of Thai Nguyen were experiencing heavy rain and many places were flooded. The new workplace, new residence, unfamiliar roads, and being far from her young children made Ms. Trang feels confused and worried. However, with the encouragement of her colleagues, especially the unit leaders, she gradually overcame the difficulties and adapted to the job.

Her husband and children are still in Duc Xuan ward, so Ms. Luc Thi Thuy (Party Finance Department, Provincial Party Committee Office) is looking for a room to rent near her workplace. Her busy work after the transfer process due to the merger of administrative units has left her with little time to take care of herself.

Ms. Thuy said: For almost a week now, I have been eating out, so I really miss family meals. I have a lot of work, I don't know the way, and the rainy weather has made my new life difficult. The affection and support of my colleagues at work is the motivation for me to overcome difficulties.

Previously, every day after work, Mr. Gia Tran Nghiep, a civil servant at the Ethnic Affairs Department, Department of Ethnic Affairs and Religion, will come home with "delicious meals" cooked by his wife to eat with. Since the beginning of July, he has been working at the new headquarters after the province's merger (Quyet Thang ward), and he has had to manage all his daily activities on his own.

There were times when he didn't get home until after 12 noon, so Mr. Nghiep hurriedly stopped by the market to buy some food to cook for himself. Back home, his wife had a hard time, working and taking care of the children all by herself. Every night when he calls home, Mr. Nghiep encouraged his wife that all the difficulties were just in the present, and that good things were waiting ahead.

Although not assigned specific tasks, for Ms. Ly Thi Muoi and her colleagues at the Tourism Management Department, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province, the common work is always important. To prepare for the Vietnam Tourism Day talk show (July 9), when she first came to the common home, Ms. Muoi was busy with this key task.

"Wherever we are, we have to work and need to work with the highest spirit and responsibility. Changing and adapting, in my opinion, is the way that cadres, civil servants and public employees need to do to keep up with the work when they move to a new workplace," said Ms. Ly Thi Muoi.

Having 2 days off on the weekend, instead of going home to visit his family, Mr. Gia Tran Nghiep, a civil servant of the Ethnic Affairs Department, Department of Ethnic Affairs and Religion, followed the provincial working group to inspect and urge the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in some localities. This is also a new area of work for him compared to the time when he was still working in Bac Kan (old).

With a large amount of work and many things he had never experienced, Mr. Nghiep needed help and guidance from the unit's leaders and colleagues. The progress of the work brought him joy and confidence.

In this revolution of streamlining the apparatus and reorganizing the country, the staff and civil servants of the Home Affairs sector play an important role in both advisory work and implementation.

For about 3 months now, Ms. Nguyen Thi Chung, Deputy Head of the Organization and Youth Affairs Department, has not known about days off, and often works until midnight before leaving the office. On the day Bac Kan - Thai Nguyen officially became one, Ms. Chung rushed to the new administrative center, and without even cleaning her room, she immediately started working with a sense of urgency and responsibility. Ms. Chung affirmed: No matter where you are or what you do, if you are always dedicated to your work, you will overcome all difficulties.

Along with the whole country, Thai Nguyen is entering an era of growth, restructuring the administrative apparatus with a positive attitude and confidence in the road ahead. Despite certain difficulties and hardships in life and work, the team of cadres, civil servants and public employees of Bac Kan (formerly) are making efforts to change and adapt to join hands in building their homeland.
