Thanh Hoa: Tourism activities continue to have positive developments

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province has just sent report No. 3502/SVHTTDL-QLDL to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism reporting on the results of Thanh Hoa tourism activities in the first 6 months of 2025.

In the first 6 months of 2025, tourism activities in Thanh Hoa province continued to have positive developments thanks to the drastic, synchronous and consistent direction of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the initiative of all levels, sectors and localities. Along with that, tourism infrastructure continued to be invested, many new products were put into exploitation, especially mountain community tourism, eco-tourism, and experiential tourism in key coastal tourist areas. Cultural and tourism events and activities were organized in a rich and vibrant manner.

Tourism service businesses in the province have actively innovated, improved service quality, and strengthened product development links; people in localities with tourism potential have increasingly raised their awareness, actively participated, and contributed to creating a civilized and friendly tourism environment, promoting the overall development of the industry.

Tourism product development in the first half of 2025 also achieved positive developments.

Regarding marine tourism products, the Provincial People's Committee has directed localities to strengthen the management of marine tourism activities, ensuring security, safety and service quality in tourist areas such as Hai Tien, Sam Son, Quang Xuong, Hai Hoa; at the same time, organizing inspections and providing guidance on conditions for serving tourists. In addition, localities have proactively tightened order, strengthened service management and organized many unique cultural, sports and festival events, thereby creating new highlights, attracting a large number of tourists and contributing to the strong development of marine tourism.

The province also prioritizes capital resources for developing cultural - historical - spiritual tourism products, promoting investment, restoring relics, organizing traditional festivals, enhancing destination value and developing products associated with national heritage and culture.

Community ecotourism products are increasingly attracting domestic and foreign tourists, with activities to experience nature and explore ethnic cultures in Ben En, Xuan Lien, Pu Hu, Pu Luong, Lang Chanh... Many events such as folk art festivals, highland markets, trekking tours, jungle marathons... have been successfully organized, contributing to enriching experiences, improving seasonality and being a product oriented to develop into a typical tourism product of Thanh Hoa in the coming time.

Other tourism products are formed and developed in a variety of new tourism products such as MICE tourism, craft and craft village tourism, and farm models combined with experiential tourism, contributing to enriching the experience and attracting visitors. Focus on developing OCOP products for shopping and souvenirs with 637 qualified products distributed at 16 traditional specialty and handicraft display points.

There are currently 123 recognized traditional craft villages, many typical craft villages (such as Tu Tru sticky rice cake, Phu Xuan vermicelli, Phu Quang lam tea...) have become attractive cultural destinations. Tourist farm models such as Tfarm, Linh Ky Moc, Golden Cow, Anh Duong... have developed strongly, providing clean agricultural products and providing spaces for visitors to experience, learn and entertain, contributing positively to the development of rural tourism in the province.

Many cultural, sports and tourism events and activities were simultaneously held in localities, such as the sea tourism festival in Sam Son, Hai Hoa, Hai Tien; the Thanh Hoa City - Hoi An City cultural week; and many cultural and artistic exchange programs at resorts...

Localities and businesses also strengthen links and cooperation in tourism development through conferences to sign cooperation agreements on tourism development: organize the signing of Memorandums of Cooperation with travel companies in and outside the province... to strengthen coordination, connection, support, and cooperation to promote communication activities, introduce and sell tour products and tourism routes.

Total number of visitors reached 10,541,000, up 7.8% over the same period in 2024, reaching 65.9% of the 2025 plan, of which international visitors reached 308,900, up 18.4% over the same period in 2024, reaching 36.4% of the 2025 plan; Total tourism revenue reached 26,507 billion VND, up 33.5% over the same period in 2024, reaching 58.3% of the 2025 plan, of which total revenue from international tourists reached: 166,220,000 USD, up 20% over the same period in 2024, reaching 43.7% of the 2025 plan.

In the last months of 2025, in addition to the tasks of state management of tourism, business investment, and tourism infrastructure, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to promote and focus on developing key tourism products to enhance the competitiveness of destinations, including: Comprehensive entertainment and high-end beach resorts; cultural, historical and spiritual tourism; community eco-tourism; agricultural and rural tourism; conference and seminar tourism (MICE)... on the basis of sustainable development towards green growth.

In particular, continue to exploit entertainment services, adventure sports games, night tourism services; Encourage tourism businesses to invest in upgrading technical facilities, service supply chains with conference rooms, seminars, exhibition centers, accommodation services, transportation, cuisine, sound and light, art performances, diversifying products for sightseeing tours...

Innovate and improve the effectiveness of tourism promotion work associated with digital transformation in tourism propaganda, produce video clips promoting Thanh Hoa tourism. Continue to promote the promotion of the potential and strengths of Thanh Hoa destinations on media channels and newspapers inside and outside the province, issue publications and tourism promotion items, organize competitions to introduce tourist areas and destinations in secondary and high schools. Coordinate and participate in tourism promotion activities. Strengthen the promotion and introduction of Thanh Hoa tourism through conferences, meetings and working sessions with countries held in Thanh Hoa and through tourism promotion activities abroad, focusing on countries such as: Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, Europe, America, etc.
