Strengthening prevention and control of dengue fever and hand, foot and mouth disease

(QNgTV) - The Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management of the Ministry of Health has just issued an official dispatch requesting medical facilities to strengthen communication, provide appropriate treatment, control infections and report dengue fever and hand, foot and mouth disease outbreaks according to regulations.

The directive clearly states that medical facilities nationwide need to strictly implement four key groups of content, which are: proactively communicating to raise awareness for patients, their families, medical staff, and medical students about the spread and prevention measures. In particular, focusing on high-risk and vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, pregnant women, people with disabilities, and their caregivers. Medical facilities ensure timely examination, treatment, and emergency care, especially for high-risk groups.

Hospitalization must follow professional guidelines to avoid unnecessary overload. At the same time, patients must be instructed on self-care and home monitoring for mild cases. At the same time, infection control must be carried out in accordance with regulations to prevent outbreaks in medical examination and treatment facilities due to cross-infection.
