More determined and creative in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses

On the morning of July 4, comrade Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Thai Nguyen province, chaired an online conference of the Steering Committee with 37 communes implementing the Program for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province to assess the situation, implementation results and deploy a number of key tasks in the coming time.

Attending the Conference were Standing members of the Provincial Party Committee, members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of relevant departments and branches.

According to the report, in Thai Nguyen province, there are a total of 7,982 households eligible for support to remove temporary and dilapidated houses, and housing support for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs.

In particular, before the merger, Thai Nguyen province had completed the target of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and providing housing support for people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives, with a total support budget of nearly 200 billion VND. Before the merger, Bac Kan province had 6,008 households eligible for support for temporary and dilapidated houses (1,357 households had not yet requested support despite being mobilized). The number of households eligible for support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025 was 4,651 households (total budget allocated was 274.65 billion VND), of which the number of households that had started and completed construction was 3,922, reaching 84.3%; the number of households that had not started construction was 729; eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households was 713 households.

At the Conference, commune leaders reported on some major difficulties and obstacles in the process of deployment and implementation such as: Unfavorable weather, heavy rain; high material prices; mountainous terrain making it difficult to transport raw materials...

To ensure the progress set by the Provincial Steering Committee, commune leaders proposed a number of solutions and key tasks that need to be implemented immediately in the coming days.

In his speech, Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Viet Hung emphasized: The entire political system and people of all ethnic groups in the province need to be more united, unanimous, determined and creative to complete this important, noble and humane political task. Secretaries, Chairmen of the People's Committees of communes, members of the Steering Committee uphold their spirit and responsibility with new determination, new methods and approaches.

The Provincial Steering Committee will establish working groups to go directly to the communes with difficulties to grasp the situation and urge and mobilize forces to participate in support during the peak period from now until August.

The Provincial Party Secretary assigned the commune-level steering committee to propagate and mobilize households that are subject to the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses but have not registered, to report accurate data no later than July 10, 2025 to have timely solutions. After August 31, 2025, any commune that has a case of temporary and dilapidated houses that needs to be removed but is not supported, the Party Secretary and the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee will be responsible to the Provincial Party Committee and the people.

The Provincial Party Secretary also pointed out that although there are many tasks to be performed in the early days of operating the two-level local government, with responsibility to the Party and the people, the entire political system of the province must unite, join hands, and complete the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province before August 31, 2025.
