Domestic pepper price today May 7, 2025

Pepper price today, July 5, 2025, continued to decrease for the second day, today continuing to decrease by 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 139,000 - 144,000 VND/kg.

Of which, pepper price in Dak Lak province recorded the highest price of 144,000 VND/kg, but decreased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day.

In Gia Lai province, the current pepper price is 139,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day.

In Dak Nong , pepper prices remain stable at 140,000 VND/kg, unchanged from the previous day.

In the Southeast region, pepper prices in Ba Ria - Vung Tau recorded a price of 140,000 VND/kg, also down 1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day.

World pepper price today May 7, 2025

At the end of the most recent trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) adjusted the listed price of Indonesian black pepper to 7,541 USD/ton, a slight increase of 0.03% (2 USD/ton) compared to the previous trading session.

In addition, the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 also increased by 3.2% (200 USD/ton), to 6,250 USD/ton.

Meanwhile, the price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper remains stable at USD 8,900/ton. In Vietnam, the export price of black pepper continued to fluctuate between USD 6,240 - 6,370/ton for 500 g/l and 550 g/l black pepper.

At the same time of survey, the price of Indonesian Muntok white pepper also increased slightly by 0.03% (3 USD/ton), reaching 10,187 USD/ton.

Malaysian ASTA white pepper price continued to move sideways at 11,750 USD/ton, Vietnam's white pepper export price reached 8,950 USD/ton.

According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the UK market is not Vietnam's main pepper export destination, accounting for only 3.1% of total volume and 3.37% of total export value in the first 5 months of 2025. However, this is the market that recorded the most impressive export growth rate.

Data from the Vietnam Customs Department shows that in the first 5 months of 2025, Vietnam exported 3,095 tons of pepper to the UK, worth 26.9 million USD, up 29% in volume and 114% in value over the same period in 2024.

The UK's pepper import demand over the past five years has ranged from 10,000 to 13,500 tonnes per year. According to the International Trade Center (ITC), in 2024, the UK imported 12,037 tonnes of pepper, worth US$73.14 million, up 12.1% in volume and 24.4% in value compared to 2023.

In the first quarter of 2025, the UK imported 2,704 tons of pepper, worth 7,489 million USD, up 12.2% in volume and 48.8% in value over the same period last year. The average import price of pepper in the UK increased sharply, reaching 7,489 USD/ton in the first quarter of 2025, up 32.6% over the first quarter of 2024. During the 2020-2024 period, the average import price grew by 9.3% per year, from 4,261 USD/ton in 2020 to 6,077 USD/ton in 2024.

In the first quarter of 2025, the UK imports pepper from 35 countries, of which Vietnam leads with 55.96% of total volume and 59.57% of total import value. India was the second largest supplier, accounting for 9.19% in volume and 10.73% in value. The growth of UK pepper imports from different markets was uneven: imports from Vietnam increased by 12.2% (1,513 tons), from Indonesia by 35.8% (178 tons), and from China by a sharp 185.6% (127 tons). In contrast, imports from India and Brazil decreased by 4.7% and 13%, respectively.
