The Than Linh Commune Military Command coordinated with the Engineering Department and the Nghe An Provincial Military Command to successfully detonate a bomb with an intact detonator, weighing about 500kg, left over from the war.

Previously, while renovating the garden to plant trees, the family of Ms. Dau Thi Nghi residing in Hamlet 1, Than Linh Commune ( Nghe An Province) discovered a bomb about 50m from the house. Through verification, the authorities determined that it was a demolition bomb with the symbol MK83, 0.4m in diameter, 2.17m long, weighing about 500kg with the detonator intact.

Immediately, the authorities evacuated people and livestock from the danger zone. They cordoned off the area, put up danger signs, and assigned guards to guard the area 24/7.

According to the Than Linh Commune Military Command, this is a bomb left over from the war, and is also the largest bomb ever discovered in the area.
