On the morning of July 10, PSG had an impressive 4-0 victory over Real Madrid, thereby winning a ticket to the final of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. However, coach Luis Enrique will face difficulties when two defenders Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez are absent in the upcoming big match.
Both players were suspended for two matches after being sent off in the quarter-final against Bayern Munich. Pacho was sent off for a dangerous foul on Leon Goretzka, while Hernandez was shown a red card for elbowing Raphael Guerreiro.
Against Real Madrid, coach Enrique used a defensive quartet of Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Lucas Beraldo and Nuno Mendes. The tightness in the playing style helped the Ligue 1 club keep a clean sheet against Real.
Since the start of the tournament, PSG has had the best defense, conceding only one goal in the match against Botafogo. The team has scored 16 goals, making them one of the best attacking teams in the tournament in the US. Notably, PSG is the only team to have won three matches with the same score of 4-0 at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup (against Atletico Madrid, Inter Miami and Real Madrid).
PSG will face Chelsea in the final with five clean sheets in the knockout stages and Enrique's side are brimming with confidence to win their first ever FIFA Club World Cup.
