At the press conference announcing the results of the first 6 months of the year of the Ministry of Public Security on the afternoon of July 7, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of the Police Department for Investigation of Crimes of Corruption, Economy, and Smuggling, said that Mr. Do Anh Tu, former Vice President of Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (TPBank - stock code: TPB) was prosecuted for the crime of Fraudulent Appropriation of Property. In addition to Mr. Tu, 14 other people were also prosecuted for this crime, including Mr. Nguyen Ho Nam - former Chairman of Bamboo Capital Group Joint Stock Company.
As of the latest information announcement in March, former Chairman of Bamboo Capital Group Joint Stock Company (stock code: BCG) Nguyen Ho Nam was still a major shareholder of the company. He held 81 million shares in Bamboo Capital, equivalent to 9.21% of capital.
Previously, in April 2024, Bamboo Capital announced that Mr. Nguyen Ho Nam had resigned and no longer held positions on the Board of Directors (BOD), Supervisory Board and Executive Board of this enterprise. The company's production and business activities continue to operate normally.
Regarding issues related to the incident, the group stated that it will transparently disclose information in accordance with legal regulations to protect shareholders' rights.

Bamboo Capital operates in the fields of real estate, construction, infrastructure and renewable energy. Before founding Bamboo Capital, Mr. Nguyen Ho Nam (born in 1978) was Deputy General Director of Sacombank . He also founded and held the position of Chairman of Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Bank Securities Company Limited (SBS).
Mr. Nam held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bamboo Capital for a long time until his resignation in April 2024. He left the Board of Directors of Bamboo Capital at the same time he was elected to the Board of Directors of Eximbank. The General Meeting of Shareholders of Eximbank later dismissed him at the request of a group owning more than 5% of the bank's capital. The reason was that Mr. Nam did not fully attend the Board of Directors meetings and the written opinions.
According to TPBank 's information announcement about shareholders owning 1% or more of charter capital, Mr. Do Anh Tu holds 81.6 million shares, equivalent to 3.71% of the bank's capital.
Mr. Do Anh Tu, born in 1962, has been Vice Chairman of TPBank's Board of Directors since 2012. On TPBank's website, Mr. Tu is introduced as a leading expert in the field of brand management and marketing. Mr. Tu is also the former Chairman of Tien Phong Securities Joint Stock Company (TPS) and the former General Director of Diana Unicharm Joint Stock Company.
TPBank on the night of July 7 issued an official announcement regarding Mr. Do Anh Tu. The bank said the case was initiated by the authorities 4 months ago (mid-March) due to its involvement in the issuance of bonds by Bamboo Capital. Tien Phong Securities Joint Stock Company (TPS) was the issuance consultant and Mr. Do Anh Tu was the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Do Anh Tu had previously resigned from all positions at TPBank.
Immediately after receiving information about the incident, TPBank reviewed related activities. The bank affirmed that Mr. Do Anh Tu's role in the case was within the scope of TPS's activities, did not affect the bank's management and operations, and was not related to credit, financial or operational activities.
TPBank maintains stable, safe, effective operations and fully complies with legal regulations.
