Ha Tinh
From the peaceful Thien Cam coast to the primeval forests of Vu Quang National Park, which was recognized by UNESCO as an ASEAN Heritage Park from 2022, Ha Tinh is gradually becoming a model of sustainable tourism.
The province promotes community tourism models in mountainous communes such as Huong Quang, Huong Lien, and Son Kim with homestay activities, experiences of farming, picking herbs, fishing, and cooking with local people.
Ha Tinh aims to preserve and restore traditional craft villages such as Trai Tieu conical hat village, Trung Luong blacksmith village or Can Loc wine-making village, both to preserve local culture and create tourism livelihoods. Tourists can also visit prominent relics such as Nguyen Du Memorial Site, a special national relic or Huong Tich Pagoda, a major spiritual tourist destination in the region.
Currently, the locality is also implementing the project "Developing community tourism associated with new rural construction" for the period 2021-2025, while connecting inter-provincial tourism with Nghe An in the direction of building the Nguyen Du - Nguyen Cong Tru - Ho Chi Minh Heritage Journey route.
Song Cau, Phu Yen
Nestled between the two vibrant cities of Quy Nhon and Tuy Hoa, this peaceful central coastal town is a gentle invitation to experience the local lifestyle through its pristine natural beauty and rich traditional values.
Here, sustainability has become a way of life shaped by generations of local communities.
From improving aquaculture models to encouraging tourism activities associated with cultural identity and limiting environmental impacts, Song Cau is famous as a destination where sustainability is put into practice, not just a “promise”.
Visitors can experience a day as a coastal resident with activities such as rowing traditional basket boats, learning traditional fishing basket weaving, or enjoying famous handmade rice paper made from coconut at local houses.
Tam Ky, Quang Nam
Famous for the colorful Tam Thanh Mural Village and the sacred Mother Thu Monument, Tam Ky possesses a charm that comes from its historical, cultural values and natural beauty, harmoniously combining to create a sustainable tourist destination that is increasingly gaining attention.
The city promotes green tourism with initiatives such as eco-friendly boat tours, community homestays, experiential tourism, and seasonal cultural festivals, such as the annual Sua Flower Festival in Huong Tra village.
Vast reed fields, brilliant pink lotus ponds and traditional images of fishermen casting nets paint a poetic picture of daily life here.
In addition, UNESCO and international organizations have highly appreciated the potential of community tourism here and committed to supporting the continued development and preservation of the Ba Trao and Bai Choi cultures, and organizing training courses on souvenir making and English communication.
Chau Doc, An Giang
Chau Doc (An Giang) is a typical destination for cultural exchange between Kinh, Cham, Khmer and Chinese communities, famous for its river life, fish farming villages, floating markets and spiritual destinations such as Sam Mountain and Ba Chua Xu Temple - which welcomes millions of pilgrims every year.
On the two islands of Chau Phong and Chau Giang, the Cham community still preserves and promotes the traditional weaving craft that has existed for centuries and was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2023.
Many households open their doors to visitors to watch the weaving process, learn about religious life at mosques such as Mubarak and experience local Cham cuisine.
For eco-conscious travelers, Tra Su Melaleuca Forest, a protected flooded forest not far from the city center, offers a unique experience of wandering among lush vegetation, duckweed, ancient Melaleuca trees and blooming lotus ponds.
According to Booking.com’s Travel and Sustainability 2025 report, up to 99% of Vietnamese travelers want to make sustainable travel choices. These numbers show that sustainable travel is no longer a trend, but has become a priority for the majority of travelers.
