In recent years, many women in the province have gradually asserted themselves, registering for central-level women's startup competitions and television programs. A typical example is Ms. Vuong Thi Thuong, Director of Toan Thuong Agricultural Cooperative, Na Sam commune. Ms. Thuong has won many high awards in competitions such as: "Startup, innovation"; "Women's startups promote local talents"; SharkTank Vietnam program... In the above competitions and programs, the startup product she introduced was "Hong bong khuon hang gio".
Ms. Thuong shared: With the desire to further increase the value of persimmon products in my hometown, I have spent a lot of time researching persimmon processing technology, thereby developing the value chain of organic wind-dried persimmons. In the early days of experimenting with wind-dried persimmons, I shed tears many times because I "lost" tons of moldy, spoiled, and stem-fallen persimmons because I had not found the right formula. Not giving up, while working, I have learned from experience to produce the most satisfactory products in terms of both quality and quantity. In order to expand the scale and gradually professionalize the production process, in April 2023, I established Toan Thuong Agricultural Products Cooperative, consisting of 7 members. From 2024 to present, the Cooperative has also launched additional products such as rose tea, rose wine... On average, each year, the Cooperative supplies the market with about 20 tons of wind-dried rose, with prices ranging from 300,000 - 400,000 VND/kg, creating additional jobs for 8 - 10 local female workers.
Not only Ms. However, in recent years, despite facing many difficulties, the "beautiful women" of Lang Son participating in the ownership of cooperatives and enterprises have still firmly steered the "ship" of cooperatives and enterprises to overcome many difficulties and challenges to develop step by step.
A typical example is Ms. Lo Thuy Dung, Deputy Director of Lang Son Agriculture and Forestry Products Processing and Export Company Limited, Nhan Ly Commune. Ms. Dung said: In 2011, the Company was established mainly in the field of exporting dried star anise and producing some products from star anise and cinnamon. In order to increase product value, aiming to build OCOP products, the company has constantly improved product quality, currently, the company has 3 products evaluated and classified as OCOP products. With the desire to promote Lang Son agricultural products further, in addition to the direct sales channel at the rest stop, we have promoted product introduction on the website, social networking platforms and e-commerce platforms such as: TiktokShop, Shopee; participate in trade promotion conferences, fairs, and exhibitions to introduce products inside and outside the province to make more customers aware. Currently, the company's revenue reaches over 5 billion VND/year, creating stable jobs for 10-15 local workers.
In addition to the initiative of women, the women's start-up movement has also been implemented by the Women's Working Committee with many practical and effective activities, helping many women have the conditions to start a business and get rich right in their hometown. Up to now, in the province, there have been over 1,400 women supported to start a business and start a business; 102 cooperatives and 28 cooperatives led by women have been supported to establish, 100% of cooperatives, cooperatives, new enterprises established and operated by women have been supported with establishment procedures, capital, knowledge... to develop models and start-up projects mainly in the agricultural sector. Thereby, contributing to increasing income, creating additional jobs for many workers in the locality, bringing Lang Son agricultural products to the market inside and outside the province. Notable examples include women's start-up models and projects that have built product brands in the market, such as: Chu Hanh Black Jelly production project (Chu Hanh Black Jelly production and trading household, Na Sam commune); project to build anise and medicinal value chain under anise canopy from indigenous resources associated with livelihoods for ethnic minority women (Na Pai village women's cooperative, Tan Van commune); project to raise microbial herbal chickens under anise canopy (Ly Thi Nga business household, Binh Gia commune), etc.
Ms. Vu Thi Huyen Trang, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, and Head of the Women's Affairs Department, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, said: In recent years, many women in the province have taken advantage of their strengths, rising from local agricultural products to develop the economy , increasing income and creating additional jobs for many local workers. Not only that, many women have also affirmed the position of Lang Son women in competitions and start-up competitions organized by all levels and sectors. In the coming time, we will continue to organize many propaganda activities, training, seminars, forums on start-ups, innovation in business, support the establishment of cooperatives, cooperative groups led by women, etc. Thereby, encourage and motivate to arouse the proactive and creative spirit of women in production labor, thereby helping many women to escape poverty, become typical examples in economic development and actively participate in social security work in the locality.
It can be seen that the efforts of many women in the province to build products and start businesses from local agricultural products have been and are making an important contribution to promoting Lang Son specialty products to customers inside and outside the province, thereby gradually affirming and improving product quality, increasing income, and creating stable jobs for local workers.
