A corner with coconut trees, flooded trees, and a lake at the proposed ecological park.
In the heart of Thu Thiem, an increasingly modern urban area of Ho Chi Minh City, there is still a lush green wetland of more than 150 hectares along the Saigon River.
This area belongs to An Khanh ward (old An Loi Dong ward of Thu Duc city, Ho Chi Minh city), a rare piece of land that still retains its natural state.
This is the area that THACO Group has just proposed to invest in as an ecological park. The project will be a piece in the new urban picture of Thu Thiem.
According to the planning project, Thu Thiem urban area is divided into 8 sub-areas, of which only this area is retained as an "ecological park". This is expected to be an open green space serving the community.
With an area of over 150 hectares, this area will be the second largest park in the city in the future, after Saigon Safari in Cu Chi. The project is expected to have a total investment of about 6,400 billion VND, focusing on ecology, public space, tourism and outdoor activities.
Today, this land is still a natural wetland ecosystem. The area is mainly covered by dense green trees. From above, it can be seen as a "green oasis" among a series of townhouses, villas and high-rise buildings.
If properly invested, this will not only be a simple park but also a "green lung" that helps keep the air in Ho Chi Minh City fresh.
Let's admire the green land in the heart of Thu Thiem:
Panoramic view of the 150-hectare green land in Thu Thiem. In the heart of a densely built urban area, a green land with trees helps the air to be cooler than ever.
The intact vegetation system grows close together, creating a rare peaceful scene in the middle of a bustling city.
Bui Thien Ngo Street, one of the four main roads of Thu Thiem urban area, is located near Sala urban area with a land area of 150 hectares.
The road goes through the coconut forest, reeds, green trees on both sides. This route is chosen by many people in the morning and afternoon to jog and cycle. Walking along this route, people can hear the birds singing, the wind blowing the leaves rustling.
Next to the Saigon River used to be Cay Bang Street connecting from the Thu Thiem Tunnel Roof Park to Tran Nao Street. Currently, this route is no longer accessible. Every day, many people come here to enjoy the breeze and fish.
It's hard to believe that in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City there is still a riverside corner like this.
This is a forest nursery - a place to grow seedlings and care for trees after they are removed from projects for care and greening again. This nursery is currently managed by Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Investment Company.
The old path from Sala urban area to the Saigon river bank. This road used to be the main traffic axis of the area but is now out of use.
Recently, THACO Group proposed that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee study the project of a central square and riverside park in the new urban area of Thu Thiem with about 27.3 hectares; an ecological park in the Southern Delta region with 150.2 hectares.
