Arsenal 'steals' Man United to sign Gyokeres

Man United had previously expressed interest in 27-year-old striker Viktor Gyokeres, who scored 97 goals in 102 appearances for Sporting CP. But when they had yet to officially make an offer, Arsenal jumped in and "snatched" him.

According to the latest information from the British press, Arsenal is negotiating the final steps with Sporting CP to sign a contract with Gyokeres. And this Swedish star has also agreed personal terms with Arsenal and they are about to sign a 5-year contract.

If everything goes smoothly, Gyokeres will officially join Arsenal next week and this is also the third contract of the "Gunners" this summer transfer. Gyokeres' transfer fee is expected to be around 70 million pounds.

Arsenal have already signed goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea for £5m. They have also completed the signing of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad for nearly £60m.

The defensive midfielder made 236 appearances for Real Sociedad, scoring 10 goals.

It is known that Arsenal's top priority in the summer transfer window is to recruit strikers to strengthen their attack, to compete for the Premier League title next season.
