Ninh Binh strives to welcome 25 million tourists by 2030

On July 9, in Ninh Binh, the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Ninh Binh Tourism Association organized a seminar on "Orientation for tourism development in Ninh Binh province in a new space". This program is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Tourism Industry.

The seminar was also an opportunity to share orientations for building new products, promoting the advantages of sea, plains, mountains, spirituality, ecology, and urban areas, contributing to making Ninh Binh become the leading tourism growth pole in the North and the whole country in the coming time.

Speaking at the seminar, Director of Ninh Binh Department of Tourism Bui Van Manh emphasized that the merger of the three provinces of Ninh Binh, Ha Nam , and Nam Dinh is opening up opportunities to reposition Ninh Binh tourism with a new scale and stature, exploiting untapped potentials, creating a breakthrough for inter-regional development. Ninh Binh has all the conditions of "heavenly time - favorable location - harmony of people" to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector with international competitiveness, becoming the leading cultural - ecological - religious tourism center in Southeast Asia.

However, besides great opportunities, the new Ninh Binh tourism industry is also facing many challenges such as differences in tourism products and development orientations among the three old localities; unsynchronized connecting traffic infrastructure; difficulties in building a common tourism brand due to the distinct identity of each place; the problem of preserving heritage and the environment while the number of visitors is increasing rapidly; the organization and operation mechanism after the merger still needs time to be completed... and especially the specific and appropriate policy mechanisms to be able to activate potential and create breakthroughs.

"Therefore, we hope that through the discussion, Ninh Binh Tourism Industry can consult experts, scientists, managers and businesses to build and complete the Ninh Binh Tourism Development Project to 2030, with a vision to 2045; propose solutions in management, investment attraction, product linkage, creating momentum for the development of Ninh Binh Tourism in the new period" - Director of Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism said.

Reporting on the draft Project for tourism development in Ninh Binh province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, Head of Tourism Management Department, Ninh Binh Department of Tourism Quach The Hai said: The goal of the Project is to strive to build the new Ninh Binh province into a comprehensive tourism center, developing in depth, with focus, based on the unique resources of heritage, culture, religion, ecology and typical rural areas of the delta. Create a breakthrough in developing high-quality tourism products and services, with great added value and sustainable competitiveness.

By 2030, Ninh Binh will strive to become a major, important national and international tourist center, a tourism growth pole of the Red River Delta region, and at the same time play the role of a strategic bridge to promote national tourism development. By 2045, it will become an international tourist center, the nucleus leading the development of green - smart - civilized tourism in the Northern region and the whole country; a symbol of the harmonious combination of heritage conservation - promotion of cultural values ​​- application of modern technology and sustainable tourism economic development.

In particular, tourism, together with the cultural industry, is a key economic cluster of the province, playing a leading role in economic restructuring, creating sustainable livelihoods and spreading cultural and social values.

Regarding specific goals, Ninh Binh province focuses on developing 4 "core" value axes, including the historical cultural and religious heritage axis; the ecological and natural heritage conservation axis; the coastal rural community tourism axis; and the high-tech contemporary cultural and creative tourism axis. Maintain and enhance the Ninh Binh tourism brand associated with the conservation and promotion of heritage values. Strive to have 15-20 4-5 star hotels; Strive by 2030, the number of visitors to tourist areas/destinations will reach over 25 million, of which international visitors will reach 2.5 - 3.0 million, with estimated revenue of about 25,700 billion VND.

To realize the above goals, Mr. Quach The Hai said that in the coming time, Ninh Binh province will strengthen leadership and direction to raise awareness of tourism development; Perfect mechanisms and policies to develop tourism together with cultural industry to become a key economic cluster of the province; Plan, adjust planning and invest in tourism development; Develop tourism products and tourist markets; Promote promotion, advertising and positioning of tourism brands; Innovate, apply science and technology, promote digital transformation to develop tourism...
