On July 9, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , Head of the Central Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, chaired the 6th meeting of the Steering Committee.

The meeting focused on assessing the implementation of goals and tasks after the 5th meeting; implementing the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, including eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services, relatives and families of martyrs; reviewing and perfecting the Steering Committees at all levels in accordance with the 2-level local government model.

The Prime Minister requested to resolutely complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide before August 31, in time to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2; in particular, the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services, relatives and families of martyrs must be completed before July 27, 2025 to express deep gratitude for the sacrifices and contributions of heroic martyrs and those who have contributed to the revolution through practical and specific actions.
