According to information from Hoa Phat Group, in the second quarter, Hoa Phat produced 2.5 million tons of crude steel, an increase of 10% over the same period in 2024 and equivalent to the first quarter of 2025.
Sales volume of hot-rolled coil (HRC), construction steel, high-quality steel and steel billet reached 2.6 million tons, up 9% quarter-on-quarter and up 18% year-on-year in 2024.
Of which, hot rolled coil steel recorded sales output exceeding 1.1 million tons for the first time in a quarter, up 18% compared to the first quarter. Hoa Phat's construction steel and high-quality steel output reached 1.3 million tons, up 7% compared to the previous period.
Hoa Phat's downstream HRC products such as galvanized steel and steel pipes reached 110,000 tons and 216,000 tons respectively in the second quarter, a sharp increase compared to the first quarter of the year.
In the first 6 months of the year, the group produced 5.1 million tons of crude steel, up 17% over the same period. Sales of HRC, construction steel, high-quality steel and steel billets reached 5 million tons, up 23% over the first half of last year.
Of which, hot rolled steel contributed 2.2 million tons, up 42%. Construction steel and high-quality steel recorded 2.5 million tons, up 11% compared to the first 6 months of last year. With that result, Hoa Phat continued to hold the No. 1 market share in Vietnam in construction steel, with a rate of 38%.
Hoa Phat Group said it is focusing on completing and producing products from blast furnace No. 6, aiming to complete phase 2 of the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex project in September this year.
Upon completion, the total steel output of the group will reach 16 million tons/year, including 8.5 million tons of hot rolled coil steel, meeting 100% of the demand for this product in the Vietnamese market.
