From the outstanding advantages of BL9 rice variety, in 2025, the Department of Agriculture recommends that farmers in the rice-shrimp production area in the province produce BL9 rice variety on 4,600 hectares. Hoa Phat Cooperative (Hong Dan commune) is one of the initiating cooperatives producing BL9 rice variety.

Mr. Vo Duc Toan, Director of Hoa Phat Cooperative, said that in the past, BL9 rice variety has been grown for 4 crops in both saline and freshwater areas, with rice yield reaching 7 tons/ha or more. Therefore, in the 2025 rice-shrimp crop, Mr. Toan and the members of the Cooperative will switch to producing BL9 rice variety on 50 hectares. Of which, 20 hectares will be produced according to organic processes, ensuring export standards.

To gradually build the BL9 rice brand, it is necessary to build a BL9 rice seed production area to ensure supply for model replication. In 2025, Vinh Loc commune will mobilize farmers, especially cooperatives, to expand 200 hectares of rice-shrimp land to produce BL9 rice. At the same time, aim to build BL9 rice products into OCOP products . Building the BL9 rice brand not only increases the value of rice grains, but also increases the income of farmers in the province.
