License plate 94 in the heart of Ca Mau

Just riding the motorbike out of the boarding house, turning right towards the Provincial Party Committee, passing the milestone “Ca Mau City - 1 km”, we suddenly saw many license plates 94 ( Bac Lieu ) also moving in the same direction. I have been to Ca Mau a few times, but this is the first time I have seen so many Bac Lieu license plates on the road here. The feeling from the time I was studying far from home came back: every time I saw someone driving a Bac Lieu license plate on Tay Do land (Can Tho), a warm feeling flowed through my body and I naturally pulled the throttle hard to rush forward to see if the driver knew me or not! Now, the same feeling appears again, signaling a new connection between two lands that have had many predestined relationships.

Following the instructions of the digital map, from Phan Ngoc Hien Street, I turned right onto Hung Vuong Street, stopped at a coffee shop at the intersection with Bui Thi Truong Street. Here, a group of civil servants and officials from Bac Lieu Ward who were on a business trip to Ca Mau Province had an appointment to drink coffee and have breakfast.

At the opposite cafe, a group of former Bac Lieu police officers were chatting. Recognizing acquaintances, we raised our hands and smiled at each other. “When did you come down here and where do you live?” - one of us asked our friend. The story about the new place to live and work quickly “occupied” the morning coffee session. At nearly 7 o'clock, an office worker stood up to greet everyone and went first to work at the office, the headquarters was on Trieu Thi Trinh Street, a few streets away from the cafe. At this time, everyone suddenly remembered that Ca Mau started administrative work from 7 o'clock, half an hour earlier than Bac Lieu. The small change in working hours was also one of the things that needed to be adapted to in the early stages.

Journey to find accommodation

Since the end of May, when the information about the merger of provincial administrative units between Bac Lieu and Ca Mau became clear, many cadres, civil servants and public employees of Bac Lieu proactively went to Ca Mau City to look for houses and rooms to rent. The family of Mr. Cuong - Ms. Thao - baby Boi and another household together traveled around Ca Mau with the hope of finding a stable place to live.

They stopped by to see a house in Ward 9 residential area (now An Xuyen ward ) that had not been used for a long time, used as a storage place, the humidity from the peeling paint walls, the road in front was newly paved with gravel and flooded deeply every time it rained heavily. "That house is difficult to live in, and it's far from the office, let's go somewhere else!", Ms. Thao urged. The landlord took them to his row of boarding houses on Nguyen Trai street, in the same ward. And so, that day, they saw some more boarding houses on Pham Ngu Lao street, a level 4 house in Hoang Tam residential area while it was drizzling. All 4 places were not satisfactory.

Two days later, Cuong and Thao's family asked for a day off from work and continued to Ca Mau to find a house to rent. Through an acquaintance's introduction, they found a room that suited their family's needs. The row of 5 newly built rooms was next to the landlord's located house. From Ly Thuong Kiet Street, old Ward 6 (now Tan Thanh Ward), they followed the small road next to the landlord's house to reach their place of residence. And 1 month later, on Saturday morning, coincidentally on Vietnamese Family Day (June 28), they moved from Bac Lieu to settle down here, looking for a place to send their children to school during the summer so that they could start working right away when Ca Mau province officially came into operation. Stability in housing is an important premise for families of Cadres to "settle down and make a living" in the new land.

Officials from Bac Lieu came to Ca Mau to work, proactively stabilized their accommodation, and prepared for a new and promising journey in Ca Mau province after the merger.

Confidence to contribute

The reorganization of the political apparatus after the merger is not just a decision on paper, but also a challenging "transformation" in the life of each cadre. It entails great upheavals: familiar homes suddenly become strange, old desks give way to completely new spaces, and young children have to leave their friends and schools to start over.

On each person's shoulders at this time is not only the responsibility to the agency, unit, but also the invisible burden from family, from personal dreams, especially from the expectant, watching eyes of old and weak parents in the homeland. The saying "One foot out, three feet back" has never been so poignant, fully depicting the inner struggles of children living far away from home, having to consider between work ideals and obligations to family and homeland. It is a thorny journey, requiring courage and silent sacrifice.

Every cadre and party member now faces a new journey, where they must reorganize their lives, from their lifestyle to each brick in building their future. Moving towards "setting down and having a career" is not only about finding a stable place to live but also a journey to affirm one's abilities and personal qualities in a larger working environment, full of promises but also full of challenges.

The strongest motivation to overcome all difficulties is the sacred oath at the party admission ceremony: "Absolutely loyal to the revolutionary ideals of the Party...; absolutely obey the Party's assignment and mobilization". That oath is not only a compass but also a fire that ignites the will, turning all difficulties into motivation to rise up.

A typical example is comrade Bui Van Tuong, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department, Ca Mau Provincial Youth Union. Although the geographical distance and initial confusion were not small, with a sense of responsibility and love for the profession, he quickly integrated, grasped the work, ensuring that professional work was not interrupted. That is a living proof of the courage and dedication of the people who are day and night building Ca Mau on the foundation of a new beginning.

"From difficulties, new elements, new people and new ways of doing things will emerge," said Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai at the first meeting of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee recently. This is an affirmation of the spirit of readiness to face and overcome challenges, towards a more unified and strongly developed Ca Mau in the future. New beginnings, although still full of uncertainty, will certainly open up many opportunities for the development of the whole province and each individual./.
