The Defense Command of Region 1 - Duc Xuan, the Military Command of Thai Nguyen province, in coordination with the Party Committee and authorities of Bac Kan ward, supported the demolition of the temporary house of Mr. La Quang Trinh's family, group 14, Bac Kan ward. |
At the online conference on the morning of July 4, comrade Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Thai Nguyen province, assigned the Steering Committees of communes in Bac Kan province (old) to propagate and mobilize households that are subject to the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses but have not registered, to report accurate data no later than July 10, 2025 to have timely solutions.
After August 31, 2025, any commune that has a case of temporary or dilapidated houses that needs to be demolished but is not supported, the Party Secretary and Chairman of the Commune People's Committee will be responsible to the Provincial Party Committee and the people.
To prevent people from having to live in temporary, dilapidated houses, communes and wards in the province have been making efforts to implement the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses according to the plan. This is one of the key tasks, demonstrating the deep concern of local Party committees and authorities for the lives and social security of the people.
According to statistics, in Bac Kan province, before the merger, there were 4,651 households eligible for support to remove temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025, of which 3,922 households started and completed housing support, reaching a rate of 84.3% (1,853 households have completed housing construction; 2,069 households are in the process of construction); according to data at the time of reporting, there are still over 700 households that have not started construction.
In Duc Xuan ward, one of the bright spots in the implementation, 18 families have been approved for support. According to statistics as of July 5, 13 houses have been completed, 3 are under construction and the remaining 2 are expected to start construction on July 7.
Ms. Vu Thi Kim Quynh, Vice Chairman of Duc Xuan Ward People's Committee, said: The ward has established an inspection team to directly monitor the construction progress and listen to the people's thoughts and aspirations. We not only encourage people to overcome difficulties but also direct specialized departments to closely follow the situation, proactively remove obstacles, ensure all procedures and documents are carried out in accordance with legal regulations, and the quality of the project and construction progress are in accordance with the province's direction.
Ms. Ho Thi Kim Ngan, Secretary of the Duc Xuan Ward Party Committee, inspected the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. |
We went to the newly built house of Mr. Dinh Van Viet's family, residing in Group 3, Bac Kan Ward. Being a poor household, living in a temporary house for many years, recently with the help of the local Party Committee and government, his family has been able to live in a newly built house on a total area of over 60m2, with a total value of 160 million VND, of which the State supported 60 million VND, the rest was contributed by family and relatives.
Mr. Dinh Van Viet informed: The solidly built, spacious house helps our family have a stable place to live, not worry about rain, storms... and feel secure to move forward in life.
Also on the morning of July 5, a beautiful image of solidarity took place in Bac Kan ward. The Defense Command of Area 1 - Duc Xuan, Thai Nguyen Provincial Military Command, coordinated with the Party Committee and authorities of Bac Kan ward to support the dismantling of the temporary house of Mr. La Quang Trinh's family (son of Martyr La Quang Chan), group 14, Bac Kan ward.
The old house, roofed with fibro cement, has seriously deteriorated, especially the prolonged leaking and dampness during the rainy season. This meaningful activity is part of the province's program to eliminate temporary and leaky houses.
It is expected that Mr. Trinh's family will receive 60 million VND in support to build and repair a new house, helping the family stabilize their lives, develop their economy with peace of mind and contribute to completing the set target.
Although there have been many positive changes, there are still certain challenges. In Cho Moi commune (based on the merger of 3 communes Quang Chu, Nhu Co, Dong Tam, belonging to Cho Moi district, old Bac Kan province), the total approved list has 81 houses, of which 78 houses have been and are being built, and 3 houses belong to households that have received support to remove temporary houses and dilapidated houses but have not yet started construction due to many subjective factors.
With the determination in directing and propagating the work of the Party Committee and the communal government, on the morning of July 5, the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Chung, a poor household in Deo Vai 1 village, Cho Moi commune, after being propagandized and mobilized by the commune, promptly dismantled the temporary house and dug the foundation, ready to start construction to keep up with the schedule. Currently, the commune has implemented and completed 79 houses, only 2 temporary houses remain, the local government is continuing to mobilize families to join hands in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, completing the set goal.
After being propagated and mobilized by the Party Committee and the authorities of Cho Moi commune, the temporary house of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Chung's family, Deo Vai 1 village, Cho Moi commune, was dismantled and a new house was started. |
Mr. Trieu Tien Trinh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Cho Moi Commune, said: At the working sessions, the Working Group promptly encouraged, explained, listened to the thoughts and aspirations of the people, and at the same time clearly informed about the province's support policies and guidelines, and discussed and resolved difficulties and problems.
As a result, the households have basically agreed and committed to starting construction as soon as possible. The increased propaganda and mobilization is proving effective, demonstrating the determination of local authorities and Party committees to care for people's lives, ensure social security, and move towards sustainable socio-economic development.
However, the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in communes in Bac Kan province (old) still faces some difficulties and problems such as: Cases eligible for elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses but have not yet registered for implementation. Some households eligible for support face economic difficulties, lack of counterpart funds, while the price of materials has increased, the mountainous terrain makes it difficult to transport materials and floods have affected the implementation progress.
The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is a major policy, demonstrating the deep concern of the Party, State and local authorities for people's lives, especially for poor and near-poor households and policy families. With high determination and synchronous participation of the entire political system, localities, especially communes in the Northern region, Thai Nguyen is striving to complete the project on schedule.
