Coffee price today 7/9/2025 in the country

According to a survey by Dak Lak Newspaper at 4:30 a.m. on July 9, 2025, coffee prices in the Central Highlands region tended to decrease sharply, ranging from VND 92,300/kg to VND 92,800/kg. Specifically:

In Dak Lak province, coffee prices decreased by VND3,700 compared to the previous day, currently trading at VND92,800/kg.

In Lam Dong province, coffee prices also decreased by VND3,700, reaching VND92,300/kg.

In Gia Lai province, coffee prices decreased by VND3,800 to VND92,600/kg.

In Dak Nong province, coffee prices decreased by 3,800 VND, purchasing at 92,600 VND/kg.

After slight fluctuations, the coffee market today, July 9, 2025, suddenly turned sharply down, showing the market's caution. Experts say that the current decline in coffee prices is mainly due to expectations of a strong recovery in supply, especially from the world's two leading coffee producers: Vietnam and Brazil.

In Vietnam – the leading country in robusta coffee production – current weather conditions are very favorable for the crop. According to a report by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Vietnam’s robusta coffee output in the 2025–2026 crop year is expected to reach about 30 million bags (each bag weighs 60 kg), an increase of nearly 7% compared to the previous crop year. In addition, the trend of converting durian and pepper acreage back to coffee cultivation also contributes to the increase in output. The main reason is believed to be the sharp decline in prices of alternative crops such as durian and pepper in recent times.

Arabica coffee prices fall sharply, robusta becomes the "backup solution"

In Brazil, robusta (also known as conilon) coffee production is forecast to reach 18.7 million bags in 2025–26, up 28% from the previous year, according to data from the National Supply Company (CONAB). Brazil is known for its high-quality arabica coffee, but in recent years the country has invested heavily in robusta, which is resistant to disease and easy to grow in lowland areas. Many experts predict that in the long term, Brazil's robusta production could surpass Vietnam.

Meanwhile, arabica coffee prices are also on a downward trend. The most-traded contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange fell to 279.6 cents per pound on July 2, its lowest level in seven months. While the market had previously been concerned about a decline in arabica production in 2025–26, recent assessments suggest that the decline may not be as severe as expected.

However, arabica is still expected to maintain its high price thanks to its superior quality, making robusta a more affordable alternative. Having experienced a sharp price increase in 2021 after frost damaged Brazil’s coffee crop, robusta is still the “backup” favored by many roasters.

The volatility in coffee prices has also affected the consumer market. In Japan, Ajinomoto AGF announced a price increase for its coffee products from July 1, reflecting the impact of global raw material markets. However, the recent decline in prices may help ease cost pressures in the near term.
