The Ministry of Education and Training has announced the official answers for the 2025 high school graduation exams. After receiving the official answers, candidates began to look for the answers of English teachers to compare. Ms. Vu Mai Phuong, an English teacher in Hanoi, also announced that the answer she gave was the same as the answer of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Previously, the image of a teacher frowning while solving a test on livestream was widely shared by netizens. Many candidates also expressed similar feelings because the English test was more difficult than they had imagined.

Foreign teachers are confused by difficult questions.

Also participating in the "race" to solve English exam questions in the 2025 high school graduation exam, Ethan Kelly (33 years old, Australian), a YouTuber and online English teacher, posted a clip solving exam questions on June 29.

This teacher chose to solve question 1102 and started to "cry out to heaven" when doing the reading on the first page. He commented that the test was quite difficult to understand, the way the questions were presented made the solver has to read them over and over 10 times, analyzing them back and forth before being able to finalize the answer.

In the 20-minute clip, solving pages 1 and 4 of the exam, Mr. Kelly answered 2 questions incorrectly compared to the official answer of the Ministry of Education and Training. specifically, in question 5, the teacher chose D, but the answer of the Ministry was C, and in question 30, the teacher chose D while the answer announced by the Ministry was A.

In addition, in question 6, after reading the question many times and considering carefully, the Australian teacher affirmed that answers B and D are both correct. He even affirmed that "if they are not correct, I will give up English". The answer of the Ministry of Education and Training in this question is D.

In addition, teacher Ethan Kelly invited a friend to his house to help him solve the problem. In the clip posted on YouTube, the teacher introduced a friend named Tony, who used to be a teacher in Australia. This friend was given the challenge of solving the problem in 50 minutes to receive 100 AUD.

After only 6 minutes of solving the test, Tony began to comment on the difficulty of the test, one sentence in the reading passage had a wrong sentence structure, specifically the comma was not placed in the right place. This teacher was also surprised that high school students in Vietnam had to solve such a difficult test.

As a result, after struggling with the Vietnamese students' exam, Tony received 25/40 questions correct, equivalent to 6.25 points.

"It's been a long time since I graduated from high school in Australia, but I don't remember ever having to do an exam that was as difficult and challenging as this," Tony shared in a clip posted by Ethan Kelly.

4 times got IELTS 9.0 but still got it wrong

Not only foreign teachers, Vietnamese teachers with a lot of experience teaching English also have difficulty solving English exam questions.

Even though he has achieved 9.0 in the IELTS test 4 times, teacher Dang Tran Tung had to exclaim: "I hate this test" when solving the reading passage on the topic of Greenwashing in the test, code 1105.

After 50 minutes of doing the test, the teacher checked the answers and continued to be confused because the answers to 3 questions in the test were different from the reference answers. At that moment, he held his forehead and exclaimed: "What the hell is this?"

Teacher Dang Tran Tung admitted that he got one question wrong because he did not read the question carefully. But for the remaining two wrong questions (questions 13 and 33), the teacher still claimed that his answer was correct. However, when Tri Thuc - Znews compared it with the official answer of the Ministry of Education and Training, teacher Tung's answer for these two questions was wrong.

Summarizing the test and commenting on the test, the teacher who has achieved IELTS 9.0 4 times said that the questions in the test were not difficult, but the way the questions were asked did not follow the natural flow of English. This makes the candidates feel very confused.

The teacher also understands the feelings of candidates when facing an exam with many new words equivalent to C1-C2 level. However, he affirmed that these new words are still commonly used in daily life, not to the extent of being old or rare words as some people commented.

"I'd rather get a 9.0 on the IELTS than take the graduation exam to get a 10. I really admire anyone who can get a 10 on this test," the teacher frankly expressed.
