Car was swept away by flood when passing through spillway in Thai Son commune (Ham Yen).
Specifically, in Ham Yen, rainfall measured in Thanh Long commune was 129mm, Bang Coc 141mm, Minh Huong 105mm, Hung Duc 92mm; in Chiem Hoa district, Ha Lang commune 89mm; in Lam Binh district, Xuan Lap commune 84mm; in Son Duong district, Son Duong town 72mm. Soil moisture model shows that many areas in the province are in a state of near saturation (over 80%), some areas have reached saturation.
According to a quick report from the localities, 2 vehicles were swept away by the flood. Specifically, in Thai Son commune, a car with license plate 23A-106.XX of Ha Giang was swept away by the flood when passing through the spillway in Minh Thai village 1. Mr. QVN, a permanent resident of Tan My commune, was swept away by the flood when passing through a flooded area in Ha Lang commune (Chiem Hoa). Authorities are mobilizing vehicles and equipment to search for the victims.
According to information from the Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, in the next 6 hours, there will be rain in many areas of the province, locally moderate rain, heavy rain with accumulated rainfall from 10-30mm, locally over 50mm. Warning of high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams; flash floods, landslides in steep terrain, areas with weak soil and rock structure, poor urban flooding.
The Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue requested local authorities to review bottlenecks and vulnerable locations in the area to take preventive and response measures; strictly prohibit people and vehicles from passing through spillway areas, low-lying and flooded areas to ensure safety.
