Interns in the manufacturing industry must score 60 points or more and those in the construction industry must score 40 points or more. This round applies preferential policies to those who score 30 points or more. Specifically, children of war invalids, martyrs, and meritorious people will receive 20 points; people from poor areas and those who escaped poverty in the 2018-2020 period will receive 20 points; ethnic minorities in mountainous provinces will receive 15 points; people from poor households and ethnic minorities in non-mountainous provinces will receive 10 points.

Round 2 requires candidates to do 35 push-ups, 25 sit-ups, and run 3,000 meters in 18 minutes. Round 3 is an interview, assessing personal aspirations, practical experience, and demeanor.
The internship period for workers in Japan is 3 - 5 years. The salary according to the contract in the Manufacturing industry is 140,000 - 170,000 yen, equivalent to 24 - 30 million VND per month. Workers in the Construction industry receive 150,000 - 200,000 yen, equivalent to 26 - 35 million VND per month. These salaries do not include taxes, insurance, rent, overtime pay and other benefits.
Successful candidates are trained in Japanese and basic knowledge 6 months before departure. Workers pay directly for passport fees, health check-ups, meals, and dormitory fees to the service provider. The Overseas Labor Center collects visa application fees, overseas employment support funds, tuition fees for foreign language training courses, and formal orientationeducation before dispatch, reinforcement, and review before departure.
Workers will receive back the tuition and dormitory fees for the official training course before being sent to Japan. The program management fee from IM Japan that the Center receives will be transferred to the worker's account in Vietnam. If the worker leaves the program, he/she will not receive this amount. The Center calculates the total cost that the worker will receive back after departure, including tuition and some other expenses, at 28 - 38 million VND.
This unit notes that to prevent fraud or illegal collection of money, workers should not ask others to submit documents on their behalf or submit them to intermediaries or brokers, and should not participate in review classes, source creation classes or sign consulting contracts on paid programs.
The program to send Vietnamese trainees to Japan for technical internship has been implemented since 2006. Trainees are called trainees, who study and do technical internships in Japan for 3 years, receiving a basic salary according to the contract.
