Department of Science and Technology applies technology in goods quality inspection
To realize this strategic goal, the province proactively cooperates with Ho Chi Minh City National University, leading experts and the business community to develop solutions for science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation in the area.
In the first quarter of 2025, Long An 's industrial production index (old) increased by 11.06% over the same period last year. Of which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased sharply by 11.72%; the electricity production and distribution, water supply and waste treatment industries all increased by more than 2%. Particularly, the plastic products, semiconductor equipment, garments, etc. industries had impressive growth, accounting for 35/74 product groups with production indexes increasing over the same period.
By the end of April 2025, the province had received more than 10,500 trademark applications, 740 industrial design applications, 105 patent and utility solution applications, and more than 6,400 applications for trademark certificates, 480 design patent applications, and 34 patents or utility solution certificates. These figures not only demonstrate the strong creative spirit of businesses and people, but also show that the legal infrastructure and intellectual property protection environment in Long An (old) are increasingly improving.
The implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on the development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation in the province has created a strong spread. From awareness to action, all levels and sectors in the province have shown high determination in applying new technology. This is an important stepping stone to help Tay Ninh make a strong breakthrough in the coming time. However, it also frankly admits some disadvantages such as the slow speed of digital transformation, limited scale and potential of science and technology, mechanisms and policies not attractive enough to attract experts and scientists to work in Tay Ninh; digital technology infrastructure is still lacking in synchronization, especially in remote communications.
To overcome limitations and realize the goal of being in the top 10 leading provinces and cities in innovation and digital transformation by 2030, Tay Ninh is synchronously implementing many solutions: Using the productivity index and total factors (TFP) as the basis for evaluation; increase the contribution of science and technology, innovation to at least 55%/year; allocating 2-3% of the total annual budget for science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation, gradually increasing according to development requirements. The province orders institutes and schools to carry out 15-20 research tasks for each year of implementation; promoting the application of science and technology in all areas of socio-economic development.

Departments and branches are also actively implementing digital transformation solutions. The Agriculture sector applies digital technology in tracing the origin of agricultural products. The Industry and Trade sector supports businesses in bringing products to e-commerce platforms. The Tax sector applies electronic invoices, electronic contracts and encourages people to use the Long An Digital application on the Long An Digital Citizen platform.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quyet emphasized: “Promoting the application of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation is an urgent requirement. This is not only the "key" to maximize advantages and remove "bottlenecks" in development, but also a new growth driver, improving the quality of life for people."
From the achieved foundations and high political determination, Tay Ninh is building strong belief that, with the right development strategy, long-term vision and the support of the scientific community, businesses and people, the goal of entering the top 10 localities in the country in innovation and digital transformation by 2030 is not far away./.
