At the end of the morning session, VN-Index increased by 7.46 points to 1,465.22 points. Trading volume reached more than 719.2 million shares, equivalent to a trading value of more than VND 16,636.02 billion. The entire HOSE floor recorded 132 stocks increasing in price, 176 stocks decreasing in price and 46 stocks remaining unchanged.
On the HNX floor, the HNX-Index decreased by 0.49 points to 238.32 points. Trading volume reached more than 72.6 million shares, equivalent to nearly 1,243 billion VND. The entire floor had 57 stocks increasing, 84 stocks decreasing and 55 stocks remaining unchanged.
UPCOM floor maintained green color when UPCOM-Index increased slightly by 0.05 points, reaching 102.77 points. Trading volume was more than 26.7 million shares, equivalent to nearly 353 billion VND. There were 98 stocks increasing in price, 110 stocks decreasing in price and 83 stocks remaining unchanged on this floor.
Although the VN30 basket had 20 stocks decreasing in price and only 6 stocks increasing, the VN-Index still maintained its upward momentum thanks to the push from some large-cap stocks; in which, VIC increased to the ceiling price, VPB increased by 4.22%, VHM increased by 1.02%, BID increased by 1.17%, and GVR increased by 1.33%.
The group of automobile and spare parts stocks also had positive developments with CMS and TMT hitting the ceiling, DRC up 4.37%, SVC up 4%, VVS up 2.59%, HUT up 2.21%, CTF up 0.89%.
On the other hand, red dominated the banking and real estate stocks. There was no green stock in the telecommunications group; ABC, MFS, TTN, and VGI all decreased in price. The remaining industry groups were divided with green and red intertwined.
Although the market recorded clear differentiation and most VN30 stocks decreased in price, the strong increase of VIC acted as the main "support", contributing to maintaining the growth of VN-Index. Along with the support from some other large-cap stocks such as VPB, VHM, BID, the general index continued to expand its growth and move towards a new peak. However, in the context of selective cash flow and many banking and real estate stocks adjusting, the market may face fluctuations when approaching the strong resistance zone around 1,470 points.
