Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh said that in the first 6 months of 2025, the tourism industry contributed significantly to the local socio -economic growth. In the first 6 months, the city welcomed more than 8.6 million visitors (up 16% over the same period in 2024); of which, international visitors were estimated at more than 3.7 million, up 25%. Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel is estimated at more than 18.3 trillion VND (up 23% over the same period in 2024).
The sector has advised the City People's Committee to submit to the Prime Minister for approval the Plan for preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of the special national relic My Son Temple Complex in Decision 1404/QD-TTg dated June 28, 2025; submitted to the Prime Minister for consideration and approval of the draft "Project for preservation and promotion of the value of the World Cultural Heritage of Hoi An Ancient Town to 2030, with a vision to 2035".
Complete projects to renovate and upgrade the grass surface of Hoa Xuan football field; housing for football players; renovate and upgrade Trung Vuong Theater, coastal toilets on Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa road. Receive and implement the projects of Bang An Cham tower, Chien Dan Cham tower, Sang tower of Dong Duong Buddhist Institute National Special Monument. Continue to monitor and urge the implementation of the project of the City Cultural - Cinema Center, Cham Museum 2 (in Phong Le) and renovate, repair and upgrade the Cham Sculpture Museum...
Currently, Da Nang city has 2 world cultural heritages; 1 heritage listed by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity; 28 intangible cultural heritages on the National List; 4 special national relics; 84 national relics; 475 city-level relics and 19 national treasures.
Research and collection of documents and artifacts for museums continue to be carried out. Cultural, artistic and sports activities are organized in a diverse and in-depth manner, contributing to enriching the spiritual life of the people and promoting the image of the city.
Many large-scale events such as the DIFF 2025 International Fireworks Festival, the Da Nang Asian Film Festival 2025, the Asian Golf Tourism Convention - AGTC 2025, the Hoi An International Choir Competition 2025, along with street art programs and cultural festivals have created a strong ripple effect, attracting the attention of the public.
Chairman of the City People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the industry in the first 6 months of the year. At the same time, he emphasized the need to continue to innovate thinking and working methods, taking quality and imprint as the top criteria in implementing tasks.
“Da Nang needs to soon clearly position itself as a regional cultural, sports and tourism destination, thereby building products, programs and events with resilience, unique identity and international stature,” the Chairman of the City People’s Committee directed.
He requested the culture, sports and tourism sector to focus on training high-quality human resources and developing community tourism. Continue to promote digital transformation in management, communication and promotion activities. Preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage must go hand in hand with development, especially in the context of Da Nang promoting urban planning and beautification.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism needs to focus on directing the organization of the Department's Party Congress. Promote the role of the Party organization in leadership, management, democratic centralism, and maintaining internal solidarity. Attending the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi requested the Department to continue to have solutions to mobilize resources, promote tourism, culture and sports development in the area. Review and advise the City People's Committee to effectively implement issued cultural and tourism projects; focus on building civilized and friendly Da Nang people, forming unique cultural values, in accordance with the history of cultural development and people of Da Nang.
Diversify mass art, physical education and sports activities; effectively organize propaganda activities for major holidays; improve the effectiveness of communication, promotion and advertising of tourism in the new situation.
In the last 6 months of the year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism aims to maintain growth momentum. Continue to advise the City People's Committee to remove obstacles and difficulties, and soon have a direction for the development of the cultural, sports and tourism sectors throughout the area.
In particular, focus on organizing the summary of the "Project to preserve and promote cultural heritage values in Da Nang city, period 2020 - 2025" and "Project to support investment in restoration of relics in Quang Nam province, period 2022 - 2025" in the fourth quarter of 2025. In the field of sports, focus on implementing guidelines for organizing the 10th Da Nang City Sports Festival at all levels in 2026.
