Few people know that the song was released in 2023, but it was not until the recent April 30th holiday that it really exploded on all platforms. One of the things that helped this song touch the hearts of the audience was the vibrant, youthful remix performed by a 20-year-old man.

The person behind the mix is ​​Nguyen Duc Tu, a student majoring in Automation in Da Nang . He is still a strange name to many audiences, but is gradually asserting his own mark.

The remix's vitality is clearly demonstrated through the numbers. After only a few months of appearing on TikTok, YouTube and Facebook, the remix version of "Writing the Peace Story" has reached more than 6 billion views.

What's special is that the song not only resonates during major holidays but also becomes the background music for millions of short videos . Young people use the song to express their pride, or simply to "catch the trend", creating an unprecedented phenomenon.

Duc Tu was born in 2005 in Da Nang. According to his family's wishes, he chose to study engineering, but his passion for music never faded. Since high school, Duc Tu has been learning to play and sing, learning music arrangement online, both to satisfy his passion and to earn extra income to cover his student life.

The turning point came early this year, when the Vietnamese team won the ASEAN Cup. Amidst the enthusiastic crowd, Duc Tu clearly felt the beat of national pride. "My patriotism was awakened, urging me to do something with music," Duc Tu recalled.

Not long after, when he accidentally heard the song " Writing the continuation of the peace story" by musician Nguyen Van Chung sung by Duyen Quynh, Duc Tu realized that this was exactly what he was looking for. The heroic melody and meaningful lyrics touched the young musician's heart. That night, Duc Tu threw himself into his desk at home, working tirelessly for many hours. The remix was completed in just one night.

"I worked hard all night, forgetting to eat and sleep. The next morning, I still had my headphones in to listen to it over and over again in class because I was so absorbed," Duc Tu said.

No one expected that just a few days after being released online, the remix would explode. TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook users simultaneously used the melody in a series of videos related to patriotism, sports, and festivals. From a few million to hundreds of millions, then reaching the "billion views" mark, a number that even Duc Tu could not believe.

Notably, singer Duyen Quynh herself took the initiative to call Duc Tu to thank him for the remix that breathed new life into the song she released more than a year ago. Afterwards, the singer flew to Da Nang to meet and collaborate with Duc Tu. Musician Nguyen Van Chung also thanked the student, affirming that the remix was the gateway to bringing the song closer to young people.

"Young people today receive music in a different way, fast, concise and easy to spread. I want revolutionary songs to have the same life, both preserving the heroic spirit and making young people want to listen and share," Duc Tu said.

Duc Tu's arrangement chooses a modern rhythm but still respects the structure and message of the original. Thanks to that, the song does not lose its lyrical and heroic qualities, but adds freshness.

"I didn't think my remix could spread like this. When I saw my song associated with images of the country, with the national flag flying, I was extremely happy," Duc Tu recalled.

"Red music is inherently rich in emotion and strong spirit, I just want to add a bit of modern, vibrant rhythm to make young audiences more interested in listening. The most important thing is to keep the original spirit and message of the song intact," Duc Tu shared.

When asked if he felt sad that the person behind the song was little known to the audience, Duc Tu just shook his head and smiled: "My biggest goal is not to be called by name, but to let the red music songs continue to resonate, to be listened to, sung and made proud by young audiences. That alone is enough."

The success of Continuing the Story of Peace has brought Duc Tu's name closer to the professional world. He received many orders, especially in the days leading up to the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. On his small desk, Duc Tu diligently completed projects such as The Road to the Front, The Next Life Still a Vietnamese Person...

According to Duc Tu, this job helps him earn extra income to pay for his studies, but he refuses to share about the revenue. For Duc Tu, the greatest joy is still being able to contribute a small part to the revolutionary music flow, with the perspective and energy of youth.

"I hope this is not just a short-term movement, but I hope patriotic music can become a lasting pride for the young generation," Duc Tu confided.

At the age of 20, when many of his peers were still absorbed in commercial music, Duc Tu chose his own path, continuing the story of epic songs in the language of a young person.

"Young people seek out revolutionary remix music because of its freshness and modernity. But more deeply, it is also a way for them to express their interest in history and national culture. I just hope that this does not stop at a temporary movement, but becomes a long-term interest and commitment," Duc Tu shared.

"Revolutionary music is not only for the previous generation but can also become the voice of today's youth, when we find a way to make them feel close and proud," Duc Tu affirmed.
