Livestock breakthrough: Tay Ninh builds giant "biological shield" to protect herd of 22,000 pigs from the risk of disease!
While African swine fever remains a threat, a farm in Tay Ninh has become a "model" with a closed, state-of-the-art livestock farming model. They have not only maintained production but also built a solid "biological shield" to protect tens of thousands of pigs, bringing new hope to the Vietnamese livestock industry.
According to the Agriculture and Environment newspaper, in the face of the risk of African swine fever outbreaks, disease prevention efforts in Tay Ninh are being stepped up. In addition to the direction of the government, many farms have proactively applied biosecurity measures to protect their livestock.
A typical example is the Thien Van pig farm in Tan Bien district. This is considered one of the leading disease-free livestock models in the region. The farm is designed in a modern way with a closed, circulating and automated barn system. The automatic cooling system helps maintain an ideal living environment, minimizing the possibility of pathogens from outside entering.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, the farm owner, said that Thien Van is cooperating with CJ Vina Agri Company Limited, raising up to 22,000 pigs per batch. The entire farm has 22 rows of barns, each row raising 1,000 pigs and is divided into two separate areas for easy management and disease prevention.
By applying the production process according to VietGAHP standards combined with the latest technical advances, Thien Van optimizes every stage. The automatic silo pumping system and feed conveyor help save labor, reduce production costs, while ensuring a reasonable diet, helping the pigs grow healthily.
The model of Thien Van farm shows the outstanding efficiency of investment in technology and biosecurity, which is a sustainable direction for the livestock industry in the context of complicated disease developments.
