Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education has just issued a notice to supplement and adjust information on regular university enrollment in 2025.
The school supplements the rules for converting equivalent scores, entrance thresholds and admission scores of admission methods. The rules for converting equivalent scores or equivalent benchmark scores between admission methods and combinations are implemented according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training , announced before July 23, 2025.
The entrance threshold (threshold to ensure input quality, also known as the admission floor score) is the minimum requirement for academic ability, demonstrated through academic results, exam results or assessments, so that candidates are able to study and complete the school's training program.
The converted input threshold between admission methods and equivalent admission combinations according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training, will be announced before July 23, 2025.
- The English Pedagogy and Technology Pedagogy majors follow the decision of the Ministry of Education and Training on the threshold to ensure input quality for the group of university-level teacher training majors and college-level PreschoolEducation majors in 2025.
- The Law Department follows the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training on the standards of university-level legal training programs. Accordingly, candidates studying university-level legal training programs must meet the following requirements: have graduated from high school or equivalent; the total admission score must be at least 60% of the maximum score of the scale; the score of Math and Literature, or Math or Literature in the admission combination must be from 6 points or higher.
- The training program of Microcircuit Design Engineering (under the Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Technology major) is implemented according to the Decision promulgating the training program standards on semiconductor microcircuits at the undergraduate and master's levels.
Accordingly, candidates studying this university program must meet specific requirements. With the admission method based on high school exam scores and academic records, the Math subject in the admission combination must be 8 points or higher, the total score of the subjects in the admission combination must be 24 points or higher.
With the admission method using the competency assessment test score, the Math subject in the competency assessment test must be 240 points or higher, the total score of the 3 parts of Math, Scientific Thinking, and English must be 720 points or higher.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education also adjusted the admission combination of two majors.
With the Microcircuit Design Engineering training program (under the Electronics - Telecommunications Engineering Technology major), the school removed the Math - Literature - English combination.
For the Materials Technology major, the school adjusted the main subject with a coefficient of 2 to Physics or Chemistry (instead of Math as before).

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education has adjusted the address information of its training facilities as follows: Main campus in Thu Duc ward, Ho Chi Minh City; Campus 2 in Tang Nhon Phu ward, Ho Chi Minh City; Binh Phuoc branch in Binh Phuoc ward, Dong Nai province.
In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education will enroll students in 4 ways: direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, priority admission according to the school's enrollment plan; considering 2025 high school graduation exam scores; considering high school study results; considering the capacity assessment test scores of Ho Chi Minh City National University.
The school's admissions council has announced the decision to recognize the list of qualified candidates for direct admission to the full-time university program in 2025.
Regarding the method of considering high school academic scores (reviewing transcripts), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education regulates the bonus points for students of specialized schools, gifted schools and priority admission areas.
Specifically, students from 81 specialized and gifted high schools nationwide will receive 1 extra point when considering their transcripts.
Students from 346 high schools with priority for admission will receive an additional 0.8 points.
At Binh Phuoc branch alone, the 0.8 point bonus is applied to all students from 35 high schools in Binh Phuoc province and 213 high schools in neighboring provinces.
