Learn and follow Uncle Ho
With the concept that learning and following Uncle Ho is not just a slogan, but must be demonstrated by concrete actions in every small thing, Mr. Luu Thien Tinh is always a pioneer and famous in all local work. As Party Cell Secretary and Head of Ba Bien B Hamlet, Mr. Tinh is not afraid of difficulties, and is even more afraid of touching on "difficult" matters such as mobilizing land donations, contributing money, clearing land or changing old habits of the people. Under his leadership, the appearance of the countryside here is increasingly improving. The 1,300m long road from the hamlet headquarters to the people's houses has been concreted, and 3 new bridges have been built connecting the canals. The cost of more than 1.8 billion VND for the projects comes mainly from contributions from the people and philanthropists.
As a volunteer who donated land to build the foundation for the bridge across the Nam Yen - Thu Ba canal, Mr. Truong Hung Thong (residing in Ba Bien B hamlet, Tay Yen commune) shared: “Uncle Tinh is very active and close to the people. When mobilizing people to build bridges, roads, and create a clean and beautiful environment, he went from house to house to convince them. I am willing to donate land to build a bridge ramp and contribute more money to install solar lights to light up the country roads.”

Not only stopping at infrastructure, Mr. Tinh also actively mobilized many resources to care for people's lives. In 2024, Ba Bien B hamlet received and donated more than 3,500 notebooks, 6 bicycles, nearly 20 tons of rice and 2 solid houses, with a total value of over 400 million VND. Mr. Tinh also proactively connected to support livelihoods, opened vocational training classes such as: Civil electricity, sewing, makeup for people.
Thanks to persistent efforts, the number of poor households in the hamlet decreased from 21 households (in 2017) to 4 households; near-poor household decreased from 38 to 7 household. Notably, Ba Bien B hamlet is currently one of the localities with the highest rate of people registering for level 2 electronic identification in the province, with 99% of the population having completed the installation.
Mr. Tinh shared: "I always take learning and following Uncle Ho as a "guiding principle" in my work. Every year, I ask party members to develop their own topics to study Uncle Ho. I also learn more from books, the Internet, newspapers and discuss with my superiors so that learning from Uncle Ho is easy to understand, close to the people and brings practical results."
Live with love
In Tay Son 3 hamlet, An Bien commune, when mentioning Mr. Truong Trung Quan, many people know and respect him. Born in a difficult life, having participated in the war, Mr. Quan carries within him the spirit of Uncle Ho's soldier. He lives a life of love and dedication, silently contributing to the community.
As the Head of the Veterans Association of Tay Son 3 Hamlet, Mr. Quan organized regular meetings well, and at the same time innovated the propaganda method by telling stories about Uncle Ho from familiar, everyday things. Thanks to that, the association's activities became more lively, becoming a place to spread the spirit of living beautifully and responsibly. From 2021 to 2025, he and the association organized more than 500 meetings, attracting thousands of members and people, bringing the Party's guidelines and policies to the people.
Mr. Quan's example is also clearly shown through many practical actions. Every year, he mobilizes the Comradeship Fund for more than 38 million VND and hundreds of gifts for veteran members in difficult circumstances. He also coordinated the construction of 15 Great Solidarity houses, 35 clean water wells, with a total value of hundreds of millions of VND. "I learned from Uncle Ho in the way of living for others. As a veteran association officer, you have to be exemplary, your words must go hand in hand with your actions, then people will believe. I just hope to have the health to continue contributing to my homeland" - Mr. Quan shared.
Mr. Tinh and Mr. Quan have just been awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in the period 2021 - 2025. |
